“We live 5 hours south of Wasau and visit the area for ski trips a few times a year. One of the first places we stop after checking into a hotel is Malarkey's. Now, don't misunderstand this review as someone who hasn't had good Wisconsin food and cheese before, but Malarkey's does it up right. Everything we've ever eaten here has been absolutely delicious, and we can't find anything better for pub fare style food. The cheese curds themselves I can't stop thinking about for days after getting back home. Heck, I'm writing this review two weeks after last visiting because the Malarkey's cheese curds were on my mind!In addition to the food, the atmosphere and service is rock solid. Every time we visit, Tony greets us and remembers us from visiting before. I'm not sure how he does it because we only have a chance to visit a Wasau a couple times a year, which usually ends up being about 5 or 6 Pub stops.This is our go-to spot for drinks and food. It's the first place we get food when we get into town, and the last place we eat before leaving for back home.“
“They have REALLY good burgers! The people are very friendly. I suggest the Hill Burger, it is made from a proprietary fresh burger mixture (as are all their burgers). Charbroiled deliciousness! The fries are crispy & very good as well. With their new pool hall being built I say people should check it out for sure!“

“Tonight was our first time for dinner since this restaurant changed from Clubhouse to Prost Hill. We LOVED the food!The smoked wings were just as tasty & flavorful. Bravo! So glad our fave wing place is still offering the same great wings with new owners!!I had a Mushroom, Swiss & Onion Burger. Just WOW! “They have the new tap beer service where you set the glass on it and it fills from the bottom up, like at sporting events. We got burgers, hand patties they were just so perfect and I'd recommend everyone to go try burgers ? also next I'm going to get one of their homemade pizzas ?. The atmosphere is great, just out of Wausau cornfields and peaceful people, it's a good relaxing place ?Features: Plenty of outdoor seating if you are concerned. They have a horse show area with seating. In a country setting..“

“Came to this restaurant as was told about $.50 boneless wings on Sundays. Got garlic Parmesan and Chipotle sauces which were both good. I had the salmon wrap which was fantastic with beer battered fries and my husband had the Beast burger with crinkle fries. He said it was good just a little dry for his taste. We both also had a Bloody Mary with horseradish, mine was spicy and his was not. He thought my spicy one was too spicy but I enjoyed it that way! Definitely want to go back again! On top of the food being great, the waitress was great, it was my husbands birthday so she surprised us with 2 shots that were so good I asked her what they were, she said it was pineapple upside down cake. She even held a candle for my husband to blow out. then when we went up to bar to pay for our dinner, she gave an extra chip to get a free drink when we come back. Much appreciated great service!“
“I was staying in a hotel near Stewart Ave in Wausau and was traveling alone. I really didn’t want to go to a chain restaurant and wanted to go to a place where I could socialize with the locals. Man THIS WAS THE PLACE!! On top of it all I got the Ribeye which they hand-cut in house and I could order as many ounces as I wanted. I went for 18oz. ;). And ate every last bite. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time and I travel all over the world for work and eat at some really nice places…this honestly ranks as one of the top steaks I’ve had. And the clientele was really friendly too! Now I wish I lived in Wausau and not 900 miles away…because this would be my new place to go!!!“
