The best place in the Bay! Excellent high quality food and amazing staff that are friendly and knowledgeable.

We went for brunch and it was awesome. Consistently great service and food. We had the berry waffles and chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy. The portions were enormous. Such amazing food at a great value. Just go here. You will not regret it.

Had booked a high top but were able to be seated at the bar which was wonderful. Highly recommend the mushroom bruschetta, we can't wait to go back and have it again. The Pasta Primavera was very good, I'm not a fan of pesto with too much basil and not sure what theirs is made of but it's not all basil and it's great My husband also enjoyed his Penne alla Vodka with Sausage.

I have never given a bad review. This was such a disappointment. The creamy chicken soup was barely creamy, no vegetables, 2 tiny pieces of chicken and no seasoning. The salmon with lemon and capers was worse. The potatoes and green beans (supposed to be grilled vegetables) were stone cold. The salmon was as dry as a bone. The capers were so shriveled I thought they were peppercorns. I will never recommend it. It was our 4th time there. First was good. It has been downhill since then

Have been to Moxie 3 times in the past several years (2 dinners and 1 lunch). Each time the restaurant did not fail to impress me across the board. In fact, I have a reservation to go back again tonight for dinner with a small group. Moxie is small and quaint (love it), so during weekends and busier times of day I recommend trying to plan ahead and make a reservation. Service has always been stellar, food quality has always been high. Cocktails, appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts are all solid and there is a decent selection of everything to begin with. I've tried a fair share and would eat/drink any of them again. Shorewood has some good spots, but it's too bad there aren't more restaurants like this in the north suburbs. Looking forward to tonight at Moxie- I know it will be amazing!

We went to brunch. The eggs Benedict was good. The fruit was fresh. The bacon was a little over cooked.

Ordered the chicken and waffles. Thought it might be a little more than some chicken thrown on some waffles. It wasn't. Polite but pretty slow service for being not very busy. Pretty meh overall

Our meals were served cold today. My Eggs Benedict eggs were barely cooked. Disappointing for a somewhat overpriced restaurant. My friend got two large cold waffles for $18. I asked if my beer chaser could be something a little darker than a Miller Lite and was told it would be an extra charge of $3 -- for a little chaser. I always ask this, and this is the first time anyone's ever told me there would be a charge, much less $3. Would have had a second drink, but server did not ask til we were ready to leave. They were not busy when we were there. Had to send a burger back once before because it was waaaay overcooked. We'll likely be visiting Moxie less often. Also don't like that most tables are about 18" apart.

Beautiful ambience. Great day date for brunch. Service was excellent. Cocktails on point. Bourbon sliders were delicious and the potato wedges were crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside- perfection. Piccata chicken with hash brown waffle had good flavor- could've used a sauce. Chicken was dry on top of a dry waffle. Not my favorite. Tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake were fabulous.

I have wanted this place to succeed. But honestly I have had an issue nearly every time I am there. So often the food is slow and something is cold. They don't have their timing down. And the food is just okay.

We celebrated my daughter-in-laws birthday at Moxie, and from the moment I walked in I had outstanding service. The hostess had our table assigned with a “happy birthday “ placard already on the table. I arrived early and chose to wait at the bar, where “Ron” the bartender engaged me in conversation and made me feel at home. Our server was delightful and the food was amazing. She presented my daughter-in-law with two desserts at the end of our meal which we shared. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Thank you all!

My friend suggested Moxie for her birthday dinner recently, which she noted on our reservation. We arrived and were seated in the weird little first table which sits behind the reception desk and in its own little plexi cubicle. The placed was packed to the gills and quite loud. Our waitress was fine, but had she been more attentive, we would have ordered more and brought our ticket total higher. She was a little neglectful despite there being a large number of employees who seemed to just walk back and forth across the restaurant floor. The burrata was good - it's hard to mess that up. Our salads were disgustingly overdressed and a soggy brown mess. My friend's chick piccata was fine, she said. My mushroom ragout was better in theory than in practice. It was bland and there was a lot of fibrous herb and vegetable matter I had to keep pulling out of my mouth. Gross. No one on staff acknowledged the birthday that was on the reservation. It was a disappointing night and my first visit will likely be my last.

Had two friends from out of town to join me for brunch after mass. Running a little late and restaurant graciously afforded me some leeway with my reservation. Food was excellent but service even more so as the wait staff was attentive but neither interfered or rushed us while will ate and visited for a while. Grateful and highly recommend to others.
