This has been one of my favorite restaurants in West Virginia for several years. It's a distance from where I live, so I only get there once or twice a year. As a locally owned, owner operated, restaurant, it is not perhaps as consistent as a franchise, in fact it varies occasionally. Overall, I have always loved the "Fresh Seafood in West Virginia", and the personable service that often comes with personality. Food wasn't worth the crazy prices I paid or the drive over here. Service/bar tender lady was lazy, was even sitting on the counter on her phone. Took far too long to come take our order too. Atmosphere is more of a sad bar than a restaurant.

Visited Stuart's Smokehouse on New Years Eve. There was an entry fee of 10 dollars per person. I didn't ask if that was common or only for the holiday. The food was decent. My SO and I got the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. Fries were a separate charge.There were quite a few regular patrons and a lack of waitresses so it was a longer visit than expected.Finally, we get to the atmosphere. It was welcoming and everyone was polite. Definitely a unique West Virginian experience.
