“We love little brewpubs and pub & grills. We looked for one in Beckley and discovered no brewpubs. None. (remember, whiskey is their thing, but few pubs as well, hmmm). My wife found Fosters Tavern. It is right downtown Beckley (which is a bit of a maze of streets, some one-way and a bit confusing. But we persevered and found the place). Fosters is a delightful place. Just the kind we like. First there is a lot of wood, with high ceilings and all sorts of stuff on the walls. Scattered about are tables with a bar at the back and off to one side. Since there are a dearth of similar places in Beckley, we ate there two times. On the first, Matt was our server. And energetic and very friendly fellow. We began with mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. For dinner we shared their special fish and chips. The second night Mallory a pleasant server served us. We began with poppers. They were OK. Probably not as good as at home. We then shared a burger. We also got a small order of onion rings. All was good, though not exceptional. The atmosphere and service made up for the food.“

I gave 4 stars for atmosphere only because the refrigeration unit was out of order on their fabulous salad bar and the workers were late getting there so around the salad bar area was messy. (Pretty much out of their control, tho.)“

“My husband and I eat at Cheddar's often. I love the food, the service, the prices and the atmosphere. I love the lemon chicken for it's flavor and it's not fried. This is the first time I have been unsatisfied with it as it was so salty I could not eat it. No lemon flavor at all. The rice was not seasoned as usual, either. I will go back but it this happens again, I will send it back. Maybe the cook was having a rough day.“

“I'm not a local but anytime I'm traveling that way I make sure I'm hungry by the time I get to Beckley, so I can stop by the Tamarac center for some of their great food. The rainbow trout is great, but when I saw my wife's country fried steak I said it's for sure I'm going to get it next time! After eating go around the circular array inside the center and enjoy the amazing art and crafts of the local artisans!“

OMG, best service I’ve had in a long time! I stopped by Bob Evans while traveling from South Carolina to visit the mountains, and I couldn't have asked for a better breakfast experience.

Mrs. Connie was my server, and she was such a lovely lady. Her warmth and attentiveness made my visit truly special. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the whole place was clean and tidy.

If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by this Bob Evans location. It was a wonderful start to my day!“

“The receipt shows that I ordered my food to eat inside the restaurant at 12:26. I received my food at 12:50. That’s 24 minutes. When the server put my tray on the table I asked her if anyone at the drive thru had waited that long for their food. A manager came over (Amelia) and explained that a cook had failed to drop some chicken and that’s why my order was so delayed. In fact she went out of her way to apologize and even brought me a fresh meal on my way out the door. I went from leaving a negative review to leaving a positive review. Everyone makes mistakes. Own it, apologize and move forward. Now, I feel I need to put these restaurants on notice. They prioritize the drive thru and the dine in traffic suffers. Stop doing this, please. My dollar spends elsewhere as well.“

“I love this store me and my family have came here for years but stopped for awhile because they were definitely having trouble for a couple years but let me tell you now it's like coming into a different store, everything is so clean and the employees are so nice and welcoming they truly are happy to see you. They are so fast to get you seated and our waitress was Stephanie and she was incredibly on point with everything, the food came out fast and was perfect everything ran really smooth and they were busy the manager Keith was the one who checked us out and he thanked us for coming in and made sure we enjoyed everything and told us to make sure to come back in soon and we definitely will it's like going to a friend's house for dinner“
