We love Applebees. Unfortunately it's been shut down. Great food and fond memories. I will miss it.

My salad was not washed so I told the server and she added mash potatoes to my meal in place of the salad. When my steak came it was med well I asked for rare. I asked to have a new one cooked. They made me a new plate of food. It was perfect and they where very nice to fix the situation! I didn't feel awkward to ask them to fix it. I will return when traveling to Kentucky next time!

We were happy with the food, period. It was the server made me angry. The server, Chelsie, was not quite attentive. We didn't even get water refill once. So after dinner I was trying to use the terminal pad to pay my bill and tipped the server 16% for the dinner. That's not much but it was sufficient for her service. I tried to swipe my card twice and didn't succeed. She told me it popped up on her side, so I guess she didn't approve it because she didn't like the tip. Then we asked for her help and she used the pad on our table and show me 20% tip and asked me if I were ok with it. I don't feel like being forced to tip and then I tuned it down to 16%. Then she grabbed the pad and my card was magically approved. Her explaination was she doesn't know why it sometimes worked for her. What's amazing was that she kept the pad and swiftly typed in something ,and meanwhile she prevented us from seeing what she was typing. I took a peek, apparently she was trying to "HELP" us do the survey on this dinner experience. She didn't give back the pad until she finished it. Honestly, Chelsie, stop being SMART, if you are doing well with your job, you will get good tip and evaluation from the customer.

Host was not friendly at all, didn't greet us. His appearance was very poor, dirty jeans. We got no service til I went up to a group of 3, including the manager. One said she'd come over, as though she was doing a favor. Gave our order all at one time since we didn't know when we'd see her again. Manager came over to apologize, said she'd take 20 percent off bill. Didn't do it, though til I asked about it, and then only took10 percent off. Poor management when they don't have enough staff. Although food was ok, we will never go back.
