“Two words: slaw dog. This Dairy Queen is a Bluefield institution. I grew up eating hot dogs here as did everyone else in Bluefield since 1959. The bun is the same, the slaw is the same, the chili and the wiener - all the same. McDonald’s wishes they could be this consistent.Last time I was here was about ten years ago, so we decided to stop by as we passed through on I-77 this week. Oh am I so glad we did. It was just as I remembered - the tastes, the smells and even the way they take your order.If you live here, you already know. If you’re passing through, take the extra 5 minutes and stop in for some slaw dogs - they are the best you’ll ever have!“
“An amazing experience all around. A lovely step back in time, even an original Coke made the old fashioned way hand mixing the syrup and carbonated water. And the person who made it and our milkshakes was the perfect employee, so knowledgeable about the history of the place, and the most pleasant personality. Forgot to get her name but she wore glasses and had been working there for four years. Will definitely be a stop everytime we go trail riding! ?“
