One of the biggest wasted opportunities for a great restaurant in Charleston. Excellent food but a management that doesn’t want customers. They post hours online that they are open into the 9pm hour but don’t let it fool you, management wants you seated and gone well before that.
Called to make a same day reservation for our daughter’s birthday yesterday (Tuesday). Was immediately told that a 7:30pm reservation was late for them as they close at 9! Sat promptly at 7:30pm and rushed thru a meal that ended at around 8:10. We had app, salads and mains served ($300+ meal) in under 45 mins all while the staff rushed around us to close the place down. Plates were thrown in front and taken away like we were on a game show. Could tell staff felt pressure to get us served and out the door by their manager. It’s such a shame as the food here is really wonderful. The place is already at disadvantage as its “trattoria” style restaurant is already challenged by the room of concrete floors and metal ceiling it is in. Warm, welcoming management would go a long way to improving the environment instead it’s as brutish as the sound of the scraping of their chairs on the concrete floor.
Ownership of this place should be aware. Either have a welcoming environment or don’t offer food service mid week. We won’t be coming back here for a long time. Especially with a new Italian option opening up on the hill recently. It’s a shame, as the food is very good.
I will add that we addressed the issues with staff at the time of dining and they did offer a $100 credit and an apology. This was appreciated but failed to ameliorate the situation fully. Just enough to placate us and be sure we were out their door well before 9.

My wife and I had our second meal at Ristorante Abruzzi last night, and it was absolutely fantastic! We sat at the bar and our bartender was a blast. Super attentive and the drinks were incredible. The Ricotta Toast appetizer was incredible, especially on the Charleston Bakery sourdough. I'm a sucker for chicken parm, and it was the special, so I had to go with it. My wife had the Cod Linguine Alla Limone. Both dishes had perfectly cooked al dente noodles, and the flavors were amazing. We also had the Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake, and it was fabulous as well. We can't wait to go back!

Amazing restaurant, very calm, quiet and staff weren’t available cute very professional.
Decoration of the restaurant is very simple. And many tables were available.
Food is extremely tasty (I would like to have a bigger portion) but it is fine and nice.
I had Alfredo with Shrimp. Sea Bass, and many other meals (I will post them all)

Not every restaurant is open on Sunday evening. We had very hot food, fresh salads, and great service, I had blackened salmon Alfredo with homemade fettuccine noodles and a chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. My wife’s lasagnas was hot and fresh and delicious.

Atmosphere isn't great, and the service was just ok, however the food my Lady and I had was fantastic with one exception, the garlic with oil for the bread was on the bitter side, not great olive oil, the Alfredo sauce however was some of the best ever, as was the obviously house made desserts, my compliments to the Chef and his staff

5 stars! Did the valentines special. Food was exceptionally crafted, great service, and the desserts were killer. If only there was a different option instead of champagne would have been my only knock

We are always ready for great Italian fare, so we stopped in while we were in Charleston, and we are SO GLAD we did! The fried goat cheese salad, the mushroom pasta (Campanelle, I believe it was), and the lime tiramisu were all incredible!! This literally rivaled some of our all-time favorite Italian meals (in the US). We can't wait to return on our next trip. This will be a MUST STOP for our future trips to Charleston WV!!!

We had a simply great meal. Nancy, our server, was very attentive and welcoming. Chicken vegetable soup was hearty and substantive. Our entrees were tasty, portions were appropriate for the evening meal. The pecan crusted halibut with white beans and kale was tasty as was the glazed salmon with sweet potato gnocchi and asparagus. We will be back!

After a handful of visits we are writing this one off. Repeatedly disappointed in horrible service - bartender, Eileen, and others. Sitting at the bar as the only patrons still doesn't help, just expect poor and sometimes rude service. Food is hit or miss and often very bland and nothing we've had has been anything worth a second try. Maybe we have unreasonable expectations for delicious food at this price point?

Absolutely best Seabass I've ever had. The food is excellent albeit pricey but to be expected for New years eve dinner. The food was so good I'm still thinking about it days later.
