Unfortunately, dining here did not live up to what I had hoped. Two of the televisions were showing “you tube similar” or “army fail type tv” blooper style videos, even though it was NCAAF Saturday with multiple games on various channels. The menu I was given had huge grease spots and was covered in some kind of seeds. Filthy and in contrast to their pricing.
The ravioli appetizer lacked in flavor and was very small for the price point. One pasta entree was enjoyed and the other was not. Service was kind, but a bit distracted. Details are not being paid enough attention to, even though they were not even half full.

I placed an order here because I had a taste for risotto. When I arrive to pick up my order, I was told to go to the bar to pick it up and pay. My meal was sitting in the middle of a table with cleaning supplies and cleaning rags and left over food surrounded it. My meal totaled $47 and I do not want to eat it. I don’t feel comfortable. I feel as though there was a reason for me to witness the placement of my meal on that table. The man that took my payment was very dry and said have a nice day to me like he was reading off a script - it was borderline sarcastic.

Ristorante Abruzzi is one of our new favorite locations in Charleston. The have an awesome seasonal menu that has great selections. We have eaten there about 4 times now, and every time it’s been amazing. They have a great selection of soup and interesting dishes. You can tell they put thought into their food, and use amazing ingredients which makes a huge difference in quality. Couldn’t recommend more!

First visit here. Started with the Italian Antipasto plate. It was filled with cheeses, meats, jam, grapes, crackers and bread. For the main dish I ordered the Frutti di Mare. This had mussels, clams, shrimp, with pasta in a spicy tomato broda. Loved all of the food. Service was excellent!

We attended a 12 person Birthday party & they had our table ready swiftly. The motif is industrial and is located within our local baseball park for the Dirty Birds. Our server was super accommodating & never allowed a glass to go empty! We were all in from out of town so the impression was impeccable! The Chef has been nominated for the James Beard Award & his cuisine matches! We all had everything different and it all came out hot & delicious! This amazing restaurant is right off of the interstate so you can dine & get right back on the road! Charleston Area Medical Center is right across the street from them as well! Wonderful selection of wine & spirits! Definitely worth a try & it’s locally ran and operated! The Bread is locally made as well! Large dining room and patio area! Perfect for any size party! Great for fundraisers and more! We all look forward to coming back! Right in the heart of town near the Clay Center as well! Gasoline is a few blocks away!

One of the biggest wasted opportunities for a great restaurant in Charleston. Excellent food but a management that doesn’t want customers. They post hours online that they are open into the 9pm hour but don’t let it fool you, management wants you seated and gone well before that.
Called to make a same day reservation for our daughter’s birthday yesterday (Tuesday). Was immediately told that a 7:30pm reservation was late for them as they close at 9! Sat promptly at 7:30pm and rushed thru a meal that ended at around 8:10. We had app, salads and mains served ($300+ meal) in under 45 mins all while the staff rushed around us to close the place down. Plates were thrown in front and taken away like we were on a game show. Could tell staff felt pressure to get us served and out the door by their manager. It’s such a shame as the food here is really wonderful. The place is already at disadvantage as its “trattoria” style restaurant is already challenged by the room of concrete floors and metal ceiling it is in. Warm, welcoming management would go a long way to improving the environment instead it’s as brutish as the sound of the scraping of their chairs on the concrete floor.
Ownership of this place should be aware. Either have a welcoming environment or don’t offer food service mid week. We won’t be coming back here for a long time. Especially with a new Italian option opening up on the hill recently. It’s a shame, as the food is very good.
I will add that we addressed the issues with staff at the time of dining and they did offer a $100 credit and an apology. This was appreciated but failed to ameliorate the situation fully. Just enough to placate us and be sure we were out their door well before 9.

My wife and I had our second meal at Ristorante Abruzzi last night, and it was absolutely fantastic! We sat at the bar and our bartender was a blast. Super attentive and the drinks were incredible. The Ricotta Toast appetizer was incredible, especially on the Charleston Bakery sourdough. I'm a sucker for chicken parm, and it was the special, so I had to go with it. My wife had the Cod Linguine Alla Limone. Both dishes had perfectly cooked al dente noodles, and the flavors were amazing. We also had the Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake, and it was fabulous as well. We can't wait to go back!

Decoration of the restaurant is very simple. And many tables were available.
Food is extremely tasty (I would like to have a bigger portion) but it is fine and nice.

Not every restaurant is open on Sunday evening. We had very hot food, fresh salads, and great service, I had blackened salmon Alfredo with homemade fettuccine noodles and a chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. My wife’s lasagnas was hot and fresh and delicious.

Atmosphere isn't great, and the service was just ok, however the food my Lady and I had was fantastic with one exception, the garlic with oil for the bread was on the bitter side, not great olive oil, the Alfredo sauce however was some of the best ever, as was the obviously house made desserts, my compliments to the Chef and his staff

5 stars! Did the valentines special. Food was exceptionally crafted, great service, and the desserts were killer. If only there was a different option instead of champagne would have been my only knock
