The Billy Motel & Bar / ISH Kitchen

Came across this hotel motel last minute and thought it was so quaint especially for me being on a trip to West Virginia blowing into this little mountain town for the first time. The first thing I noticed was the bar that is connected to it thought it was clever to stop on in and grab a drink then go to your motel entrance from outside when your ready to turn on in for the night. I liked the retro quirkiness to the decorations and art that was in some of the rooms and bar area. This was the best motel because it fits the visiting the mountains of WV so well you really get the full experience here. Another thing that I thought was a plus was the fact that there is a convenient gas station right across the street along with a pizza and gas/tobacco stop shop there too. Would visit here again if I was in the area!

The on-site restaurant and bar is a standout. Great cocktails and a relaxed atmosphere, with staff who are warm, helpful, and genuinely happy to share local tips. The location is perfect for exploring Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley. After a day of hiking it’s amazing to come back to a space that felt both fun and restful.

One of the most unique and special places I’ve ever stayed and eaten! The rooms are hip and very clean. Ish kitchen and the Billy Bar are as Hillbilly Fabulous as advertised!

The food at The Ish Kitchen totally lived up to the hype — everything was delicious, and the vibe was so good. Loved the retro style of the motel too — it has that perfect mix of vintage charm and modern comfort. Can’t wait to come back

The bar and restaurant are worth driving three hours to Davis West Virginia just to visit and I'm sure the motel is just as fabulous although we didn't stay there. Excellent crafty, cocktails, and food and tons of vegetarian options.

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous meal at ish! What a gem in this area! The food was top notch, and we loved the “worldly” variety of food options. Cocktails were great, too. Love the decor inside. Such a vibe. Kudos to the creators of this great spot!

This was a great find. It was recommended to us because there weren't any camp grounds available. The rooms are clean and the motel has a funky vibe. Lots of local art in the rooms. There is a bar resturant on site that doubles as the office. The rooms come with two free drink tokens. We weren't there on a night the bar was serving food, but the menu sounded great. The location to the hiking trails and other POAs was perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend. The rooms are not well insulated for sound. We could hear all of our neighbors phone calls. They do provide ear plugs in the rooms in case it gets too loud. We didn't use them but its a nice touch solution to an obvious problem.

We ate at the Ish kitchen. What a fun delight to our tastebuds! We ordered several dishes and none disappointed!

Stopped at the bar for cocktails and light fair. Chicken Quesadillas were fantastic. The grape leaves were very good as well. Service was awesome. Hidden gem in Davis. West Virginia!

Per the usual, greatest accommodations in the area. Amazing from start to finish with a staff that makes you feel right at home.

The room was adequate for our needs. We weren’t looking for a resort. The service was top notch & the staff so very friendly! The food in their lounge estaurant was amazing. I will be back on my next hiking trip.

Stayed at the Billy Motel & Bar with my husband and we will be coming back!! The service was amazing, drinks were PERFECT, and the rooms were so clean and beautifully designed. You can tell everything from the moment we checked in to checkout, was done intentionally with the guest in mind. Can't wait for our next stay!!
