Do not eat here. The food is mediocre at best and extraordinarily overpriced. The service was poor, as the waitresses and staff were rude. My girlfriend and I ordered a coffee, an orange juice, (1 slice of) duck egg French toast, grits, 2 small waffles, and 1 sausage patty, which turned out to be $50, and all the food had both extremely small portions and was of low quality and flavor. They even forgot my girlfriend’s sausage, and when we mentioned that she had ordered one, instead of putting a new one on the griddle, they gave her the sausage which was as hard as a hockey puck by that point. The building and location were quaint but all the employees had pajamas on and looked like they had just rolled out of bed. I would not wish this breakfast experience on my worst enemy.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Golden Anchor cabins and this place is the closest breakfast spot, so we decided to try it out!

***Be aware that it’s cash or check only!** they do have an ATM inside.***

We LOVED being able to support their mission and heart to help teens serve and work. Go in with patience and compassion and you’ll have a better experience than some of these folks who wrote negative reviews. The food was good too; we each got the Nookie Scramble and their special that day: duck egg French toast. Keep up the good work ❤️

This is a transition facility for young adults with autism. Please understand this before you go! Some of the reviews below are completely unfair, callous and reflect some folks in ability to understand the hard struggles people with autism have. We had breakfast three times during our visit to Davis, WV. The food was always good, the bacon in particular is phenomenal. Standard maple syrup is included, home made WV maple syrup is optional for an additional charge and well worth it. They also have optional freshly squeezed orange juice which is of course more expensive than store bought OJ. The staff is wonderful, you can feel how hard they are trying. Don't be surprised if sometimes you will get a very direct autistic answer. Yes, it is cash only and on the pricy side for breakfast but remember the restaurant is helping to fund their program. To complain about the price in light of their mission is wrong.

We stopped in for quick breakfast going out of town. Staff was rude, yelled at other staff and was rushing us out of the place. There were 5 barstools and three small tables. Very crowded and the manager screamed “don’t let anyone else in!!”to a teenage employee . The food was overpriced and not great. Was told by a friend not to bother but we thought we’d give it a try. We needed to listen. Once we were outside another couple asked “ did you feel as unwelcome as we did?”……

The service was good , however the food was awful. We ordered very basic items, eggs, grits , biscuits and gravy and it was not good . The grits were not cooked , you could tell they put them in a bowl and the poured boiling water in the bowl and sent them out .

Very disappointed in the quality and quantity of food. It cost $80 for the four of us to eat breakfast. The portions were so unbelievably small and the food was not really that good.
I can understand and get behind the vision and goals of the restaurant, but honestly at what expense?
If you're going to charge an arm and a leg for your food, please make sure it at least tastes good, and you give enough to fill us.
The high cost and skimpy portions makes us question the true motives and goals of this restaurant.
We will not be coming back.

Mediocre food at a high price tag. We got 2 (Eggo size waffles that were white), 3 eggs, 2 coffees and a water for $40. The prices do not match the quantity or quality of the food.
Service was friendly and attentive, best part of the meal.

We had breakfast with a purpose at The Breakfast Nook. This place is amazing! This restaurant, farm, & catering business is a live and work environment opportunity for emerging young adults to learn through on the job training to become independent through real life experiences, guided by mentors and life coaches. ?????? These amazing people are doing amazing things. The staff was very friendly and my breakfast burrito was yummy and made with their own farm fresh ingredients. Talking with Mike the owner was the highlight of my day. Getting to hear about his business model and how his main objective was just to teach these young people life skills with love and hard work.

Our family (4 adults, 1 teen, and 2 kids) stopped in during our recent trip and ate here for the first time. Honestly, it wasn't too impressive. Seating is limited, food is mediocre, and the price doesn't reflect what is provided.

Most of the dishes revolve around eggs, yet most of our eggs were overcooked. No omissions or substitutions on certain things. Porkchops are frozen. No ice is available. The pancakes were very good and cooked perfectly.

The prices are what got me. $4 for a pint mason jar of store bought orange juice with no refill, $3 for a can of pop, paying for maple syrup with your pancakes, etc. Our party of 7 ended up paying $114 before tip. The same exact order, including a 20% tip, at a Dennys would be just over $90. I'm not saying you have to be cheaper, I'm just saying that if you are going to charge that much more for something, it needs to be reflected in the quality of food.

The one positive of our visit was that the waitress was very nice and attentive. The business also works with local youth to get them into the workforce and give them some life skills, which is awesome.

Parking: Side parking lot. More parking than the business could hold.
