Karubees Jamaican Restaurant

My husband and I had Karubees for dinner. He had curry chicken and I had jerk chicken. The sides were cabbage, mac and cheese, and rice. Chicken so tender it fell off the bone and so very tasty. As you can see in the picture, I couldn't wait for my husband to shoot the pic before I had a bite. I love that her husband picks up all ingredients instead of having them shipped so they are always fresh. I highly recommend you give it a try if you like Jamaican food.

Karubees is a wonderful, family owned, Jamaican eatery with freshly made items that hit the spot. From the OxTail, rice / bean, cabbage, to the Jerk Chicken - it’s delicious! So happy to have another option in H-Town.

So much flavor!! I wish I‘d know about this place sooner. The food is amazing! Came out pipping hot and cooked perfectly. Also, some of the best service I’ve ever had. This place is a GEM!

The food here is my favorite in town and I get so excited when I can remember to order before the whole town orders everything up before they even close! I pre-ordered my food today and I am very excited. This is a MUST TRY restraunt but a fair warning its a little pricey but dont let that stop you from indulging because I overlook it every time easily!

AMAZING FOOD! But dang it’s expensive!!! My go to order is the curry chicken, mac-n-cheese, and plantains. This Mac N Cheese is literally the BEST I’ve ever had! If the prices were a little lower I’d definetly order more, but $30+ for lunch for one is too much. Hours are but odd, I’m disappointed when I’m at work & go to order & they are closed.

Best food in Charleston, delicious every time.

Wow what a gem! Best collard greens I’ve ever ate, rice and beans to die for, chicken moist and flavorful.

HIGHLY recommend this spot, just hope they have extra plantains next time 😁

Greedy Islander platter- ox tails, curry chicken, jerk chicken and the Mac n cheese, steamed cabbage, and white rice as sides. Great taste, atmosphere, and hostess was super friendly.

I order a Jerk Chicken plate with green and rice and peas every time I’m in Charleston. It never fails to be amazing!!! This time, they upgraded my plate to a large. Top 3 restaurants in WV for me!!

I ordered oxtails, steamed cabbage, and collared greens and they are DELICIOUS! It's definitely the best food I've had in the area recently.

Food was delicious! Had the lunch menu jerk chicken, macaroni and cheese and collard greens. Jerk chicken spot on. Collards superb. Mac n cheese had a sweetness I’m not used to but darn delicious! Service was fast and friendly. They are repairing their floors but could tell it will be nice so benefit of the doubt gives them gives them 5 stars all around. We will definitely go back so as to try other menu items. Definitely recommend.

The food is absolutely delicious. I had the lunch jerk chicken with Mac n cheese and collard greens. You get a ton of food. Everything was super delicious. The chicken was very authentic from what I remember of my trip to Jamaica. The macaroni n cheese was different than I’m used to but very good. The collards were delicious. Overall, I would give it a 5/5. Service was great. Short wait time. Had to take our food and eat in car because I didn’t see that they were take out only until they get their floors repaired but that is fine. We picnicked in the car. Well worth it. ❤️

What a hidden gem. We stopped for lunch on our way though Charleston and so glad we did. They are tucked away on a side street around the corner from several well known restaurants. I can’t say enough about the owners. When she took our order she was patient and explained different dishes to those of us who weren’t quite sure what was what. And brought us a plate of rice and beans to try. The food was fantastic- she said her husband comes in early every morning to make sure the chicken is done correctly. He does a fantastic job- my wife is a white meat no bones in her chicken person and she cleaned up all the chicken that came with her meal (dark and bone in) If your in the area or a local please stop in and give them a try. You will thank me later.
