A large group gathered for dinner and the staff at The Oxley House were outstanding. They were attentive and took excellent care of us.

Great service and food! A must try when you're in Elkins, WV.

Really really good food and experience, for an extremely reasonable price given the quality and atmosphere. It's part of the Tygart hotel itself, but feels very much like a stand-alone steakhouse. Very much worth the visit, we would definitely visit again.

I had the ribeye with pureed potatoes and green beans almondine, while my wife had the pasta papperddelle.

An overall wonderful experience. As someone who has traveled the country and the world, I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across Oxley House.

The presentation of the restaurant itself was gorgeous with modern style and refined taste. It was also clean and had a welcoming atmosphere.

Our server, Matt, was also top notch. Friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to serve without overdoing it which was refreshing.

The apple kissed porkchop, the encrusted trout, and our drinks were delightful. Cooked to perfection, filling proportions, and easily worth their cost.

Ultimately, the 1 star reviews just seem to come from outrageous people.

We were so excited to eat here but, the absolute worst meal I’ve ever had in my life. Beef stroganoff tasted like they put beggin strips on instead of steak. Kids Mac and cheese was doused in pepper. Husbands rib eye was grisle. Everything was sooooo salty. Spent $170 for frankly the worst meal of our life lol! Staff was very kind and considerate but still had to DoorDash our kids food because they were starving.

What a strange experience. No one seemed to know what was going on. Seems like a cool hotel. Food was ok. Got a burger it was decent. One person in our party got an Alfredo that was very good though it didn't come out with our food and took and extra 15 minutes to arrive. Our cheesecake was very close to being frozen. Cocktails were good.

The place is beautiful. Food, and service on the other hand, is not so good. Our reservation was at 7:15, arrived at 7. We did not leave til after 9. We waited about an hour 1/2 for our food, while people who got sat an hour after us got theirs almost immediately and had left before we even got ours. They ran out of the steak my boyfriend ordered, and after an hour waiting on our food, came and asked if he would like a different kind. The steak came out chewy and not cooked properly. Our waiter was lovely, but also did not keep us updated hardly. I expected far better based on the reviews i read before reserving. Not worth the price or time.

Reservations lose meaning if they're not honored. Showed up on time on Valentine's Day for our reservation but was told that there was a wait. Was surprised but we waited. Had to wait around 45 minutes to be seated. Also, think they overbooked so we were seated inside some conference room rather than the main area in the restaurant.

The food was excellent. The restaurant was not able to provide a filet mignon, however, the waiter, Matthew, did offer an alternative steak that was delicious. The service was excellent, and the suggested wine selection was perfect.

Amazing onion rings! And other dishes spot on!

Gary and I love, love, love the Oxely House!!! The food and customer service is EXCELLENT!!! We take all of our friends and family there for dinner or drinks. The staff are incredible! Our favorites are Mercedes, Brandy, Zach and Cindy! Keep up the GREAT work!! Try the BURBERRY drink by Zach! Its delicious!

We went to the seafood Buffet, Never again, I should have said something at the very first, few bites. I should have got up right then and asked not to be billed and left.
But I acted like the other sheep.
The fried oysters were cold and hard.The oysters on the half shell was all but frozen
