We had our rehearsal dinner at the winery and our wedding at the pavilions. The winery is a beautiful space with plenty of parking and lovely decor. The staff were very accommodating and helped us make our day exactly how we had dreamed!

Heston Farms hosted my daughters wedding and I can't say enough about the service, beauty of the facility and property, and the convenience of this venue. There's not a lovelier spot to hold such a wonderful event in our State or the surrounding area. I am very pleased to hear Heston Farm's is re-opening their venue. SCM

A nice little gem tucked away in Fairmont, WV. You drive through a residential area before getting to the distillery, so don't be alarmed. I took a few minutes to taste the shines and whisky before having a bite to eat at the restaurant. It's a very clean and well run place that's easily one a spot I'd spend an afternoon at. I had the fried green tomatoes and wings. Both were excellent. Prices are a little on the higher side, but you get what you pay for. Delicious.

As a local, I like to frequent places owned and operated by locals, and share my experiences.

I liked the wine. Beautiful view and nice atmosphere. Nice staff. We did not try the restaurant because it was closed.

Can someone tell me when they are open?...I'm living in Germany and would like to order a bottle or 2, Also what would it cost to send some overseas?

Formerly Foxfire Restaurant, The Mason Jar opened in May 2017 specializing in barbecue.

Our visit to the restaurant was a disappointment. After looking over the menu I had it in my mind to order brisket. They were out of it. I decided after noticing how basic the menu items were (half chicken, wings, pulled pork) to order a burger.

Though cooked as requested (medium) and topped with an appropriately cooked over easy egg, the mediocre burger was served on a hoagie bun that one can only presume had been sitting around for months, and topped with a Kraft Singles Slice. The side of smoked Mac N Cheese was good, however.

I expected better considering how laudable the Foxfire Restaurant at Heston Farms was. This new establishment feels like a downgrade. I doubt we will be visiting again and that's a huge disappointment considering the dearth of higher end restaurants in Fairmont.

Nice atmosphere but terrible food and slow service. Was there for thanksgiving dinner and stuffing was so dry it was not even edible mashed potatoes had large hard chunks of potatoes in it that were crunchy and pie was cold and tasted store bought not fresh. Great place for wine and moonshine but definitely do NOT recommend their restaurant. I definitely could have cooked a much better dinner with leftovers for a week (which is why I didn't want to cook because I'm not a leftover fan) for less money. Total cost was just over $59 for 2 and only thing edible was the stuffed turkey breast and green bean casserole (which was very basic).
There was also NO toilet paper in bathroom at our visit (2pm) and only 2 paper towels, very disappointed with this location we chose to spend our thanksgiving meal at.

I have visited the restaurant twice. The first time was in August 2015 and while I loved the outdoor setting, and the wine I ordered was delicious, the food was extremely expensive, and my fried green tomatoes were honestly awful.

I again visited a few days ago, and was again dissatisfied with the food. We ordered spinach artichoke crab dip. The appetizer came out absolutely scorching hot with a nice layer of grease covering all of the cheese. After blistering the roof of my mouth even after blowing on my bite of the dip, I was disappointed to find very little crab or artichoke. It was mostly just very oily cheese. Finally our steak and potatoes came out and I was, once again, disappointed. My potato was small and dry and mine and my boyfriend's steak were medium-well to well-done despite ordering medium rare and medium steaks. The flavor MIGHT be on par with your every day steak restaurant. The service was just okay and for the price of the food and the quality we received, I would not recommend visiting.
