This place has fallen on hard times since the founder died. They are short handed and have had to cut back on the beer garden, and the patio seating. This restaurant used to be a fun place to go to, but now that is all gone. I ordered the baby back ribs for lunch, and they came out dry. Took the restaurant over an hour to cook the food. My wife and I came to Harper's Ferry for a long weekend and had dinner at The Anvil. The restaurant was extremely clean. Alyssa was our waitress and we couldn't have asked for better service. I had the best steak I've ever had. Their Mac and Cheese was delicious. The Cole Slaw was very good. I would really recommend this restaurant.
Great pulled pork sandwich, smoked right in front of the restaurant. In fact, I smelled it while driving by and just had to turn around and have lunch here. My waitress Jessie was very pleasant and helpful, and the place is very cozy with ample seating and a nice bar. They actually surprised me with a few non-alcohol beers to choose from.
