Well they have done it again. They were supposed to cater a wedding today. Contacted the groom and said that she got the wrong day. Will wait to see if they get their refund in a timely manner. A piece of advice for anyone planning on using them to cater an event, DON’T.

Edit: I felt at the time that I would give this company some grace. However days have passed with no communication. She owes a newlywed couple a FULL refund for the food they didn’t receive as well as the food they had to unexpectedly order to save the wedding day. The wedding was 5/31. Today is the 9th. She continues to make post about the situation and then delete them when people disagree with her on Facebook. Her communication skills are poor and that’s why I am leaving this bad review.

I came here, a little skeptical, place was ran down. but these ladies new how to cook. Great meal and great service...shrimp in the seafood boil was some of the greatest I've ever had. Prices are cheap and food came quick as well. Give it a shot.
Delicious food, brought someone from out of town in visiting and the owners/workers were super friendly.

The reviews must be from wv folks cuz this food aint it. Was in the area from charleston looking for something good to eat. Wanted to go in but its a drive thru. Never been to a soul food drive thru only spot and im from atl. So you cant even look at the offerings prior to flipping the lid on your plate. There were only two meat offerings and she was already out of yams. At 130 how? She only had like four sides anyway. And the portions may be nice, but the food is sub par. The meatballs arent even homemade. I know food from working in restaurants 15+ years and this lady is serving premade meatballs. thats why you get so many. Someone making meatballs from scratch would limit how many you get. Nobody serving 20 meatballs and two sides for $10 and its all made from scratch. And there isnt even outdoor seating since you cant go inside. Complete miss for me. Wont return or tell anyone about this place.

I bought food here for the first time today, so I can only give a limited review of the menu items. First, it’s a really a horrible, hole-in-wall BUILDING & location—- it’s a 1-woman-run take-out-only place, so no one in their right mind would normally even go there— HOWEVER— I read many on-line (Facebook mainly) reviews— and I have NEVER read BETTER reviews of ANY other restaurant! People were giving it 5-stars! Everyone raves about this place, so I had to try it. Well, now it’s my turn: No.1: the food was GREAT. No.2: the AMOUNT they give you for the money is outrageous! Fully enough for 2 big meals for 2 adults! Any other restaurant would charge DOUBLE for this amount of food! I actually felt guilty and I walked back up to the drive-through window. I said, “I’ve got a complaint— you gave me TOO MUCH FOOD!”—- and I handed Jo-Jo some more money! (She is a sweetheart lady for sure.) This place is gonna be SO successful that she will soon be swamped and she will HAVE to hire more help (I think only her son and her hubby help her now—?) — and of course, get a new location— with indoor seating, etc. No.3: You must understand that this is an OLD-fashioned COMFORT FOOD/ “Soul Food” joint—so— if you are concerned with how much sodium or fat or butter or carbs or calories that you eat— ?—-this is definitely NOT your type of restaurant! You have to forget that BS— this is just good OLD-fashioned southern cooking! It really wouldn’t surprise me if she is cooking everything in LARD— maybe that’s why it tastes so good—? What else can I tell you? I bought fried chicken, collard greens, meatballs, green beans, mac & cheese, and dressing— all were fabulous—just like my Lithuanian grandma used to make! I can’t wait to go back and try her seafood boil, pot roast and BBQ ribs— and anything else she makes! I guess that about covers it—?
