Monarca Taqueria offers phenomenal food at a reasonable price. The salsa is the best, and the alambre is full of all kinds of flavors and juices, not dry or bland. The taco platter, with 12 4” corn tacos and a variety of meats, makes for a perfect casual date night, and the chorizo is amazing. Street tacos, including al pastor, are amazing, Richard’s Kitty’s Alambre is super yummy and huge, and the tamales are perfection. The guacamole tastes fresh with great texture, and the vegetarian tacos, stuffed with freshly grilled zucchini, sweet potato, and broccoli, have a perfect balance of flavors. The 2-for-1 margarita deal is a favorite. The atmosphere is nice, calm, and homey, very family friendly, and the staff is so sweet and friendly, making guests feel at home. The owner sincerely cares and has passion. The place is very clean, almost spotless. However, prices were raised for student discount meals.
