Food was bland. No taste to sauces on the meats. Extremely disappointed. Will not go back. Food in Shepardstown was much better.

We are at their restaurant. I ordered the Shephed’s pie. It was so watery I almost needed a spoon to eat it. It also had so much pepper in it that it burned out my taste buds. We decided to try again for breakfast. My supposedly cooked eggs were almost raw. The toast was so hard that if broke in half when I picked it up. Definitely a very disheartening experience for the premium price that we paid!!!

Food was insanely good. It was pretty fancy, both the food and the atmosphere. Drinks were fantastic as well. Our server was great as well I dont remember his name though.

Ate at the Bavarian for a work function and the food and drinks were soo good! Our waitress Sarah did an amazing job waiting on our larger table and made sure we were well taken care of. Can't wait to go back with my family on our own! Highly recommend the lobster ravioli and the chocolate and caramel cheesecake!

I had lunch this past week at the Bavarian Inn restaurant. I ordered the prime rib sandwich with fries. The prime rib tasted like it was from the day before. The fries were the best part of the meal. The waiter was very attentive but unfortunately the food needs help.

The service and atmosphere are amazing! The food was good but not spectacular. I had the Curry Crab soup and the Saurbraten. The soup lacked a green curry flavor and the beef in the Saurbraten was tough in the center like it hadn’t braised long enough. The desserts were delicious!!

We visited Bavarian Inn last night with high hopes after reading so many glowing reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. We were excited to try what we expected to be authentic German cuisine, but what we got felt like a poor imitation, clearly not prepared by someone with a deep understanding of the food’s origins.

We ordered the Jaegerschnitzel and Sauerbraten. The schnitzel was mediocre at best — chewy and completely underwhelming, especially for the price. It was smothered in a strange sauce that did it no favors and was paired with a bland, confusing side dish that tasted like a mushy pasta, though we couldn’t even be sure. We also asked for mashed potatoes, and what we got looked (and tasted) like it had been sitting around for days — dry, lumpy, and flavorless.

The beef, Sauerbraten, was the real letdown. It tasted like it had been cooked the night before and reheated, then drowned in an overly sweet sauce that overwhelmed the dish.

This was by far one of the worst meals we’ve had in a long time. Nothing about it resembled the renowned German cuisine we were hoping for. Unfortunately, it just felt like a poorly executed American version of something vaguely European. Would not recommend to anyone looking for a true Bavarian dining experience.

We had lunch here today. 4 adults 2 kids.
We ordered crab cake pretzel, shepherds pie, crab cake entree, salmon in risotto, beef stroganoff, papadelle pasta and kids cheeseburger.
They were all excellent! The crab cake was nicely charred on top and moist inside. The asparagus that goes with it was not overcooked and nicely salted and buttered. They also have bread and whipped butter which was a total plus!
We thoroughly enjoyed the prompt and polite service of our waitress and it was an unexpected delight for a town like Sheperdstown. I did not have expectations but this place exceeded and delivered! We will return again!

Had a fabulous Sunday brunch. We sat outside on a beautiful Sunday morning and Chad made our brunch "extra special" with his great service and friendly manner. Look forward to coming back again. Thank you.

Great German food and awesome service. The authentic German food made a delicious lunch with tasty draft German beer. Make sure to try the pretzel pieces in the bread basket.

Amazing food and exceptional service. If I ever find myself in the area again I will definitely eat there again. I would also look into staying there. While visiting a winery, the owner recommended we eat at the Bavarian Inn and I am so glad we took his suggestion!
