Took the time a few minutes before closing to have a conversation with me and my 2 little ones. He really loves the community and serving the people in it. I will be back!

Back in the spring of 2025 I was on my was back from Philadelphia to Durham NC on a motorcycle trip along the Blue ridge and skyline drive and stayed in Shepardstown for the night. I stopped by the Lost Dog for a coffee. I'll admit at first Garth came off a little abrasive when he said he wouldn't put cold water or ice in my coffee, but he explain that it changes the flavor and told me he would use iced coffee instead. And he was right. it was a fantastic coffee. I also didn't mind at all being told that I shouldn't use a credit card because I understand how those companies screw over small businesses. Garth and I went on to talk for about an hr and discoveree we had both grown up in the punk and hard core scene in the 80s and 90s. We talked about life and the journey and I honestly felt like I had met someone I really liked. Hope to back again soon to catch up. Take care brother.

Went here when I was boy and the owner was a hip young man with a cool coffee shop. Now I'm a man, and the hip young man still runs the shop. What a thing.
The coffee is unmatched, I'm a nurse working out of state. I typically only support local coffee roasters & Garths coffee is the best I've ever had. He customized it based on what I typically like & also gave me some wonderful tea ! I loved the opportunity to hang out in the shop, great experience
Our favorite coffee shop in Shepardstown.

Snagged two cappuccinos from this place, very hot and extremely good. Cool vibe, we enjoyed humming to the 90s tunes while we waited. Want to go back and try the May flavored offerings!
Stop in and let the owner take your taste buds for a ride. If you have it, cash is king here.

AWFUL. Do not go here...unless you want meh coffee with a side of the owner hurling insults and curses at your wife. The owner is clearly a very disturbed man. I hate leaving negative reviews but this was an absolutely awful experience. After being so shocked by our experience, I took a look at his Facebook and this man thinks he is dead. Yes, you read that right. Very sketchy place and I would not trust it with your business.

Good stuff!
As with most creative genius you’ll get quality & expertise with a bit of quirk. This place knows what the hell they are doing and it’s for those you appreciate that. There is no better cup of caffeine than from here in the area. True master of the coffee arts can be found here.
