Our favorite food & beer venue when we go skiing or backpacking in West Virginia. They got most delicious pizza. Lovely atmosphere. Great beer. Friendly staff. Highly recommend going there.

Pizza was phenomenal. At least one selection of every beer category and good prices overall. Definitely recommend. Fun to hang out and play chess or other games with your wife/spouse.

This place was absolutely wonderful! The staff was awesome and youthful. We were greeted with a large smile when picking up our pizza! The kids in the kitchen made our food taste wonderful… we were to busy eating and forgot to take pictures!

Came in here with a group of 15 for food drinks. Was told we needed to order here so a bunch of us sat in the seats in front of the bar. There was nobody else in the bar room when we came in. After looking at the menus for a couple of minutes I heard someone say you have to get in line to order. I turned around and there was like 10 people in the line. I said we weren't told we had to get in a line to order and the bartender said. Yes I told you that. No she didn't. All she said to us was you have to order here and I was standing in the middle of the room at the bar. She flat out lied about it. We'll that was it. 15 of us out the door. For sure the lost several hundred dollars on that deal. Also where the heck are the mountain views that are stated on there website because we sure didn't see any.

Service was terrible. I ordered two beers at the bar when i got there, went to my table and hung out, then when i went back to the bar to order my drinks, i sat in a seat for 15 minutes with my cash, and then was told i had to get in the line of people just getting there to order a beer… even though i watched other people that were sitting at the bar getting served. Completely disrespectful and unprofessional. Another customer also said “you’ll get served depending on who you are.” If you don’t want people from out of town to come visit and drink, make that known.

Stopped on a whim after hiking, the pizza was very good, and I wasn't planning on getting a drink but a fall drink on special sounded too good to pass up. Would stop again!
Two other options to eat were closed in Thomas, one permanently, so we opted for Mountain State Brewing and weren’t disappointed. We split the Big Casino pizza (gluten free crust) with bacon, spinach, tomato and mozzarella and really enjoyed it. They messed up our order and gave us a regular pizza with the same toppings and it was equally tasty. I also ordered the Lost Cow steak sandwich which was flavorful but could have used a little more meat to fill the very large subway bun. Washed it all down with a nice IPA!

We've been to all 3 Mountain State Breweries. I believe this is the original, and it's offerings do not meet the expectations set by the Deep Creek and Morgantown locations. First, they offer counter ordering only. Since this is your first impression of the joint, the server should be friendly. She was not - I'll give her benefit that this may have been a busy time. However the location is small, so "busy" is relative. When asked if I could get a soda refill, the answer was a short "No, I don't give refills" Hmm Overall, our pizza tasted great and we gobbled it down. There is only one size offered. My theory is they are pre-made and sent through the conveyor belt. NOT the wood fire crust the other locations offer. But the toppings were great and we ate it all. We re commend the Fire on the Mountain, and the Margherita was topped with fresh basil. We will return here again, but now know what to expect!
