Our food was very good. I read a prior review about the hashbrowns not being great, ours were very good. My daughter got the chicken fried steak and scrambled eggs (prior post said those were overdone)… take that with a grain of salt… everyone likes their scrambled eggs different… her eggs were cooked just fine. I had the Spanish omelette and hashbrowns, and it was also very good! Place is dated but it’s clean, so if you’re looking for uppity, maybe pass, but if food and friendly service is your goal, I’d recommend it! (And I’m fairly picky about food quality)

Perfect for an early breakfast while traveling from Yellowstone down south. Beware of the pancakes - you gotta be really hungry. The sausages are more for smash burger lovers and please upgrade your syrup for the pancakes. Ambiente is authentic, service was great. Restrooms need a replumbing!

Had breakfast, got the chicken fried steak with eggs and toast. It was okay, the steak and gravy were good but the toast was a little closer to bread, my scramble eggs were a bit over cooked and the hashbrowns were raw and burnt at the same time. I'd stear clear of the hashbrowns. Wife's food was okay, eggs cooked right and her bacon looked thick although it was a little over cooked. Her hashbrowns same story. Service was fine although some things on my wife's plate were wrong. Got enough coffee and the place seemed pretty clean. Parking could be a problem.

We LOVED it here! The Breakfast is amazing! They have the best French toast i have ever had! And the coffee is really good here. The service is great, very friendly waitress, on top of refills and anything we needed. Very kod friendly. The portions are generous. We will definitely come here again when we visit Afton.

Kid-friendliness: Came in with 3 hungry loud kids. The waitress was very nice, and found things to accommodate my toddlers needs

No one was even upfront to greet us, only to find out they were closed.

Tried to stop in twice in 3 days. We were the second couple in line with the restaurant looking fairly open, but a 10-20 minute wait so left Sunday morning. Stopped in to the steakhouse at 5:00 pm Tuesday, but no one to be seen. New owners? Good luck.

The worst experience at a restaurant. Several people in the group felt this way. It is too bad because this historical place is so beautiful inside. The food is awful. Burgers are overcooked, fries taste like they are from last week. We asked for more fries as they weren't edible. The new fries were honestly slightly better but still I only ate a couple as I needed something for food. Others had steak, not good. Anyways, I wish we read the reviews before stopping at this cool historic spot.

My brother and I came in after a day of fishing, sat down and ordered 2 sandwiches and a one trip salad bar. There were only a few people in there when we first got there and were told by our waitress that this was her first night... ok. After we had got and ate our salads two other groups came in and sat close to us. One group of four ordered steaks and the other group, a couple ordered chicken fried steaks. At about the half hour mark I stared wondering what was taking so long and then I noticed the other waitress that had been helping the new girl was gone.. nowhere to be seen! Then the two other groups that came in after us by 20 or more minutes and ordered steaks and chicken fried steaks got served their meals, this was at about the 50 minute mark I asked what was taking so long and was assured ours was on it's way....another 10 minutes and finally we were severed. The French dip I ordered looked like they went and got it from Arby's. The meat was dry and not what I would expect for a "Cowboy Dip". I took my sandwich up to the counter and asked to talk to the manager/cook, and said "I waited an hour for this while the other tables around us were all served steaks they ordered after us"... He shrugged his shoulders and said SO!! Had we not had the salad we would have left before... Local with a bad attitude and just don't care. paid bill, left new girl her tip... won't be back... terrible service!
