“I highly recommend this place - imagine finding an outstanding meal, in a historic location, in a beautiful and picturesque landscape, with fantastic service, for a very reasonable price... this is where I found it! I had the New York strip done medium-rare (as it should be!), and I can't remember when I've had a better steak... but DO NOT overlook the appetizers! I had the artichoke hearts and sampled the butternut squash - both were absolutely superb! The host was gracious and attentive, and my group thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely plan to return next time we are in the area.“
“We were on our way to Yellowstone NP and stayed at the Buffalo KOA for the night and the clerk there recommended The Cookhouse. Boy are we grateful to her! Beautiful drive out to a working ranch and great views. We shared the Reef and Beef between each couple but honestly it would have fed all four of us! And it was so tasty! The char on the scallops and veggies was perfect. The steak was tender and flavorful. And the crispy potatoes were so good it was hard to believe they were potatoes! A truly special meal! It was so good we made a special stop on our way home from Yellowstone to eat there again! And it was spectacular the second time too! The chef is young but very talented and his pairings and presentation of meat, sauces and sides is inspired!“
“What a cute Mom and Pop restaurant! Was recommended this restaurant by Big Horn veterinarian staff caring for my dogs while they were getting their teeth cleaned. Really good food, fast, friendly, courteous staff. Fair pricing on the food. I will definitely come back to eat at this place again.“
“Very good food and excellent service. Lots to choose from on the menu. However, all the animal head trophies adorning the walls were a bit off-putting. I'm a gypsy and I have the 'gift' of being able to talk to the dead.Consequently I couldn't help being unnerved by all the negative comments coming from them as I ate my food. The only similar experience that I've had was at The Codfather in Lytham St Anne's where a Billy Bass on the wall talked to me whilst I ate my hake, chips and mushy peas. I might become a vegan .“
“Visiting Buffalo on the way back home from a camping trip. Stopped in this cute town for lunch. There was a sign on the door that dogs are welcome on the back patio. We were thrilled to find that! They were so welcoming. The waitress brought our dog a fresh bowl of water. The patio was cool and shady and the service was super friendly! Our lunch was awesome!! We will stop here again next time through Buffalo!! Shout out to the super friendly staff at the Southside Grill!“
