The atmosphere is peaceful with lots of cozy seating options, including an upstairs with plenty of tables for groups or getting work done. The art alone is worth the visit, with a gallery that changes often enough to keep it fresh, featuring work from local artists like the Whitlatch brothers and a collection from Jesse Suggs that has raw, creative energy. The drip coffee is smooth, balanced, and tastes like someone cares, with a sophisticated menu offering drinks that are not super sweet, including the lotus option. Delicious coffee choices are named after things like Yellowstone and Jackalope. The barista went out of her way to make a macchiato with correct proportions. The service is very friendly, and the staff and new owners are friendly to small children. There are lots of local things for sale like jewelry and shirts. Coffee orders can sometimes be slow (about 10 minutes) as it is a small business with a small staff, but this is a stop-and-enjoy-it type of place. Dog approved.
