This was quite the place to visit, I believe the building was built in 1902 and has such a good feel on the interior giving you a warm and inviting feeling. And I can't say enough about the quality steak dinner along with the sides was all perfection. They were handing out Halloween Goody's while I was there and just like the decoration for the holiday they go all out, great service great food awesome atmosphere and will definitely be stopping in again

We are so glad we stopped in here for supper while on our honeymoon! The atmosphere was welcoming, the food was delicious, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. My husband had been suffering from a toothache for a few days before hand while we were traveling, and the staff/owner went above and beyond to help us with our urgent needs while staying in Pinedale for the night. Thank you for a great evening and all of your help!

Surprise! Your server was the owner’s girlfriend! We would never have known. Would you like to meet the chef/owner and have a tour of the entire property? That is what we received, not because we are big tippers or celebrities, but because we asked a simple question about the location. These people are an inspiration. This restaurant skillfully and beautifully rides the line between snooty and sensible, in a way that perfectly fits the bill. The food was excellent, the décor was gorgeous, the layout cool, and after being shown every back room and told about every secret passage, we bumped into Buck. Buck purchased this derelict building and turned it into a huge, classy, comfortable, and fun place. Super misleading from the street view. He kept the original name so that the locals would not be encumbered by new management nonsense, and so they could feel a certain wonderful way about their own history. One of the staff approached him while he spoke to us asking “The kitchen is closed but this guy wants to order.” “Anything he wants” was Buck’s response. That is the spirit of this establishment.

It is owned and operated by a bug and fish scientist who developed an affinity for cuisine while guiding on the river and cooking for fly fishermen. If you had an unsatisfactory experience here, it was a one-off, an accident. I have traveled all across the mountain West.. my crew as well. We all marveled at the degree to which we were catered to and welcomed. We were also astonished at the thought and creativity that went into every aspect of this place. A hostel? Massage therapists? A photo booth? Employee quarters? We were given access to an old slot machine and invited to play. The arcade is in its own room and has crazy modern games that will make your kids head explode. An observation tower? A poker room? This guy is my hero. He took an idea and built a mecca that I will never forget. I think the most endearing part is that we are likely not an exception. They probably take random guests and explain the entire history, renovation, and philosophy to lots of folks. A true hidden gem that I am thankful we stumbled onto. Bless you, Buck and Mindy, for what you are doing. And Kay, may you rest well knowing that your endeavor is being so faithfully and capably carried on by these two angels.

The service here was insanely bad. I have never been so disappointed at a restaurant. We waited half an hour just to order and then nearly an hour for our food. I wanted to cry! Our waitress never checked on us. Did not refill our drinks. When our food finally did come the "kid's meal" was a small bowl of buttered noodles, no sides, for $10. The fact that everyone around us was also unhappily staring at an empty table really killed what little atmosphere there was. Save yourself and go somewhere else. We talked about how bad this place was for the rest of our trip!

Service left a lot to be desired. The waitress asked me if I wanted my mixed drink on the rocks or neat as if I was sipping whiskey with no mixer. We ordered ribeye and prime rib. Ribeye was okay, nothing to rave about. Prime Rib was over cooked, tough, with no flavor. Personally Owning a steakhouse I am well aware how prime Rib should be made. I ate a few bites. The mixed veggies were good. Waitress brought an and hovered over me while I was trying to figure tip. Definitely won't eat here again, just wasn't that grand for the price

My friends and I were visiting from Denver and were looking forward to enjoying what seemed to be a good steak. Unfortunately, we didn’t even get the chance to try one. The host and I presume “manager” told us that their kitchen could not handle serving us upon arrival. It was 7:00 pm on a Saturday, and there was probably 9 open tables……… Very toxic environment, we felt like we were profiled.

The place was jammed on this mid-season evening, so patience was a reasonable expectation. Still patience eventually runs out, especial with $40 entrees and a $10 bowl of very pedestrian soup. The entire staff seemed to be no older than high school age and it showed. Everything arrived wrong, late, and cold...and that was after a half hour wait. I tasted the cold soup (it was NOT gaspacho!) and simply left everything uneaten on the table without paying. I have a long fuse but this was REALLY bad service.

The prime rib was a delicious large portion of meat. Brought the other half home. The seasoned veggies were the best ever. It included green beans, yellow squash, zucchini, butternut squash, peas (?) and maybe more that I don't remember. Seasoning was just right. Mashed potatoes also came with the dinner, beef au jus, and horseradish cream. Would definitely eat there again!

Don’t waste your time unless you want to get the “what’s up man” tough guy greeting from the bar tender. Too bad I can’t leave zero stars…

Unfriendly service and mediocre, overpriced food. Lady at the front bar couldn’t be more unwelcoming. Happy I found elsewhere to eat during the rest of my visit.
