The only good food was the quesadilla lol everything else (enchiladas, tacos, cheeseburger) was horribly disappointing to all of my group. Not worth the high prices.
Never would I ever expect something so delicious and so authentic in Rawlins of all places. Every bite was good and the prices were also great. I don't miss new mexico anymore because of this place, the food is that good and the spice level is not for the weak.
Very good food. Do not pass this place up.

La Abuelita is a gem of a Mexican restaurant with delicious, fresh food. The menu includes options like Molcajete (with shrimp, chicken, beef, and Longaniza), enchiladas with Roja or verde sauce, and an orden grande of guacamole. One standout dish is the menudo, described as one of the most authentic. The food is amazing, well kept, and made fresh, not fast food. However, the salsa can be VERY hot and should come with a warning. The restaurant is nice for dining in or grabbing food to go, with a very clean atmosphere that feels like tele-transporting to another place. Service is usually good and fantastic, though in-person service can take a bit longer, so extra time is advised. The waitress is very nice. Some personal dislikes include heavy, hard chairs and loud music near the speakers. Despite this, the food is perfect, and the place is worth getting off the highway.
