We planned to have portobello sandwiches on the menu only to be told that they were out. Turns out they had the portobellos, ran out of buns. Chef Oscar came to our table to make sure that he could prepare us the best dinner possible, after Sarah found out that we were about to walk out, our server Jen and Cedes provided us amazing service. We also had the mango sorbet and vegan lava cake, yum times 10!
We were looking forward to getting the portobello mushroom sandwich and when we went to order we were told they were out. We were so sad. Chef Oscar came out personally to speak with us. He discussed with us what he could do and he made us an absolutely amazing meal!!! All you have to do is ask. Chef is soooo accommodating.
Food is good comparing other places in Yellowstone. But it takes FOREVER to get your dishes and the table for 4 people is Extra small size

Food is average at the price of gourmet food and the atmosphere is absolutely vulgar. Perhaps the service is the only thing that works.
I do not recommend at all to dine out here.

I understand that I'm in a national park but the chicken sandwiches we had were VERY lacking of chicken. The parmesan fries could have had more parmesan and melted on the fries would have been better than just sprinkled on them.

9/24/24 Kudos to the manager!
We (2) were seated promptly, but it took a long time to order & get our food, which we expected per other reviews. Unfortunately our order got mixed up somehow and they brought the wrong meal. The waiter was very apologetic and resubmitted the order. While we were waiting the manager was helping out and brought the same wrong order to us. We explained what happened so he took it back. Our correct meal only took about 20min this time. We shared a smoked trout appetizer, house salad, steak all of which were delicious. When it came time to pay, the manager only charged us for our alcohol and comped all the food which was around $80! He did the right thing! Thank you sir.

Avoid - just drive 15mins to the closest town.
We waited for a total of 1h50 minutes! This was 50mins to get seated and 1 hour after.
Food is really bad.

Super expensive restaurant, more than questionable quality, price that will cut you in both arms and you are hostage to the place, no other restaurant, monopoly. Advice: plan before entering the park something to eat for yourself because it is fatty, not balanced, not varied and not really good in terms of cuisine. Avoid because not at all recommended. Welcome to the USA...

I want to say first of all, that the front of the house people did great. We were greeted. Given what turned out to be a realistic timeline for waiting for a table and a very attentive server who did everything right. (Both times we went, dinner one day and breakfast the next).
That said, the food is just wrong. It comes out of the kitchen however they dreamed it up... certainly not how you ordered it. In the case of the burgers, I think they must have been sitting in a warming pan for an hour or more. They were dried out and every bit of well done. We ate them after the 40 minute wait but were not happy.
The next morning we ordered really basic stuff... eggs over medium and toast. The eggs were still snotty. I mean the whites were not fully cooked let alone the yolk. We sent them back, ate the toast and left. The server was very gracious and took the eggs off the bill but jeez... just how hard are eggs and burgers? It isn't like they don't charge enough to create the expectation that things will be right!

Very displeased with the dinner service here. A one hour wait to be seated even with plenty of empty tables. Took 15 minutes before server came to our table. We promptly put our orders in and drinks. Took an additional 15 minutes just to get drinks. Half of my order arrived another 20 minutes later. My spouse didn't receive his order until almost 40 minutes later with the rest of mine. The airline chicken entree dish was not impressive and was a very minimal portion and came with only one side. The chef (maybe the only one?) appeared at tables chatting away. Server asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu and my spouse didn't even have his main entree yet. We're not the sort to leave bad tips, but felt a point needed to be made. NPS and Xanterra, please make an effort to staff your restaurants appropriately (especially cooks) during the still, very busy fall season. Should not take two hours to order and eat a meal that we ate in ten minutes. Management needs reorganization if this place wants to be taken seriously as an upscale establishment. Not impressed.
Wheelchair accessibility: Not very wheelchair accessible. The only way to get in on a wheelchair is to use the ramp to Mammoth Grill, inform a staff member that you need to get to the Dining Room, and have them guide you through the restaurant to an employee-only door that leads to Dining Room. No other way in or out if you’re on a wheelchair. Same goes for ADA bathrooms, which are not available in the Dining Room but instead in the adjacent Mammoth Grill. Other than that, staff is very accommodating.

Terrible food, creepy decor, how the place could be called a dining room is beyond me.

Decent food at a somewhat expensive price, with a few vegetarian options. Definitely one of the better places to eat within the park. Service and atmosphere were definitely great
