Food is ok nothing to write home about. It's expensive and could be more fresh and flavorful. My favorite thing was the bison bratwurst. Service wasn't terrible, but it wasn't friendly. I'd say the line was a 10-15 minute wait for lunch.

They charged us double the price. Once we told the waiter, he called the manager, who told us that we didn't have to pay anything. This was 9 months ago, and we are still waiting for a refund. Service is terrible, too.

When I visited off season and ate here for dinner the only choice they had was eating off the buffet for their captive audience pricing. The buffet had minimal options but most of them were reasonably good. Still, for someone who doesn't pack away a ton of food, especially not meat, it ends up being a terrible value. At least the atmosphere is pleasant.

My advice… take your own food! This restaurant is HORRIBLE! It’s buffet, costs around $50pp and the food is bland, boring and disgusting. I would equate this experience with a bad cafeteria school lunch. I CANNOT believe how expensive this slop is. Like I said, take your own food in a cooler!!! You’ll be happy you did!

DO. NOT. EAT. HERE. If I could give this place a NEGATIVE rating I would. I should have believed the reviews others left.....but I didn't...and here we are. For starters...our staff and all staff we interacted with were doing an OUTSTANDING job and trying to do the best they could with what they had.... But...thats where it ended. Look at my pictures. The root cause of frustration....if you take reservations...you should be prepared to have enough food for everyone!!! The "food" they did have, was absolutely disgusting. Chicken was boiled with some type of sauce thrown on 忙 No short rib....substituted Hot Dogs No fresh vegetables...substituted frozen broccoli No croissant bread pudding No Gluten Free No Bread No Vanilla Cream Sauce No baked beans ... Substituted some concoction You get the drift.... the pic attached with everything crossed off tells you the story.

Dining facilities were to be open for service through OCT 9, according to the NPS fall newspaper. Imagine our disappointment and surprise when we scheduled our day to enjoy lunch at Old Faithful Inn. The first clue that they closed prior to the published date was seeing employees hauling out lots of garbage, linens, etc. Along with at least 5 other couples, we saw the sign taped to the door and left mad and disappointed to have an awful lunch at the Old Faithful Lodge fast food place. The same thing happened the day before at the facilities run by Xanterra at Fishing Bridge, they closed a day early.

Came here for breakfast before hiking the Upper Gyser Basin. We arrived around 7 am, so there was no line and the dining room wasn’t crowded. It was a buffet breakfast, with a good number of options to pick from. The food was hot (if it was supposed to be hot) and the line moved quickly through service. When we left, the line to get in was long and I would imagine service would be slower.

This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. For $40 a person you would expect a good meal. It was terrible! The dining room itself is beautiful, but the food is awful! Do not spend your money and go to this restaurant. The lodge is fabulous, dining room is terrible !

Thy Inn is a quite peculiar place to stay. For dinner, We had the buffet, expecting a great all-you-can-eat meal for the price of $39.99 a person. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. There were no meats out when went thru. Others got meat later, and it was a joke. Chicken possessed no flavor, salmon, ok in flavor, but dry. No ribs on line when we went thru. Salad dressing, flavorless! Rolls were cold, green beans tough. Horrible meal, I wouldn’t feed this to my dog. This should be a $12 buffet. We wont be back & certainly do not recommend you go either. To sum up all the events of this paragraph, the food was horrible.

Things we liked: the setting and service were really great. All the foods were labeled for allergies right at the bar. They were prompt in seating us for our reservation time. If you got dessert, it was brought to the table.Things we didn't like: At $40 a person, I was surprised it was a pre-made salad mix. There were no kid friendly options to eat. The meats were overcooked and bland. I recommend looking elsewhere for food while visiting. If this review helps you, give us a thumbs up. #crazykleinadventureDietary restrictions: The buffet is labeled right above the food for all dietary restrictions. There are no gluten free desserts.

Although we reserved rooms months in advance expecting a pretty good dining experience, Xanterra (the YNP vendor) decided to close the hotel down early (without notice to pre-booked customers) and since we arrived only 3 days before they closed, the menu was a mediocre buffet. We cancelled the remaining two days dinners and drove to West Yellowstone for some decent food. Xanterra did this last year, too, when we left the Yellowstone Lake hotel two days early as well. MORAL: if visiting NEAR the end of the season, check the menu and hotel status every week for several weeks in advance, since Xanterra may make changes you won't like.

The dinner in the dining room was extremely disappointing. The Inn is a very cool lodging experience and having an afternoon drink on the terrace was great. We had dinner reservations in the dining room and thought we were getting a quality meal. The buffet is your only option for a meal and is $50 per person. I would not pay $10 for what we got. All of the employees seemed to be fed up with everyone and everything. There was one buffet and the line was very slow. You would think they would have working a buffet figured out, but food was constantly running out, there were no plates, and honestly I'm not sure what the servers were actually doing. Costco has better food than what was provided. It is a disgrace to the historic Inn.

So… if you would consider this to be your “night out” type dinner you will be extremely disappointed. It is not worth the price at all. This place needs new management and people who know how to cook. From a profitability standpoint they should get rid of the buffet and offer better food for the price of what they charge. Lots of food gets wasted because it’s not good enough to finish. The food is a solid 5/10, but the price makes it a 1 star. I wouldn’t pay more than $20 to eat here. (Our only option was the buffet). The staff is okay but it’s so poorly managed. They have bussers giving you water and cleaning tables but also have servers cleaning tables so they aren’t available to check in with you.

Terrible experience. We arrived for our reservation and once seated, we were told to get in a 50 person buffet line. After 40 minutes in line, we were able to serve ourselves cold carrots and a few asparagus spears. The beef was out and would be for another half hour. The chicken looked like white pucks, the salmon was cold. We put our plates down and walked out. I understand the season is ending, but when you are charging over $400. a night, guests expect better.

Understandably, there is a long waiting list for getting into the Dining Room. My wife and myself did not mind that. The Lodge is a beautiful location, and beautiful music playing. My lower review is really regarding the quality of the food/buffet available. I wanted to make a memory with my wife, but managed to get stale food in the buffet line. It was worth trying out once, but I don't think we will personally be returning.
