“I can see why Michelin recognized this restaurant.Food:The food is incredible and at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend the pakoras to start off. All the dishes we ordered were yummy and generous portions (we had lamb madras and butter chicken). There are lots of GF options on the menu too.Atmosphere:I liked that we could easily carry on a conversation—it’s not noisy. I thought our server and host were very friendly too.Location:Great location in Kits and very accessible by public transit.“

“Our friend recommended this place to us.. and hands down it has the most amazing South Indian flavour! We had paneer butter masala, goat kali mirch (must try), chicken madras curry, ulvacharu chicken biryani (sooo good). Come here with friends/family and order family biryani size (super huge portion). Meat pieces are so tender and well cooked. Come over for a feast! Parking is paid, available on street. They have free parking in back side, we didn’t know about it.Don’t get the dessert! Music was a bit loud. Still giving 5 star as food is amazing!“

“This is our go-to place for Indian food. Always great service and delicious food. The pic I added is the takeout we got yesterday. We both got the lunch combo special. Hers is without the chickpeas (subbed in extra butter chicken) and with the garlic naan. Mine is as-is: butter chicken, rice, chickpeas, and regular naan.We don't live nearby, so we usually have to use a food delivery service since we're outside of their 5 km delivery range. But whenever we're in the area, we usually stop in and grab some to take home.Parking: The area can be busy but there is paid parking along the street and they have a few free spots in the back.“

“We had fish pakora, chicken pakora, daal, goat curry with naan and tandoori roti. The food was exceptional. The ambiance was homely. We had the pleasure of being served by the couple that own the restaurant, they were so lovely and treated us like family and served us fresh like mom would do. I highly recommend. It's now my go to when in Vancouver“

“The decor and atmosphere is cool and relaxing. Took my wife and family for her birthday. Staff were very attentive and the food was beyond amazing. They were perfectionists when it came to the taste of their dishes. Two from our party are vegans and very impressed. The restaurant's location, 132 Powell St, is away from the nightmare called the downtown Eastside. A quick drive from North Vancouver. We needed a change from Indian Fusion and this restaurant was well worth the drive.“

“Can't recommend this place enough. I have been here a handful of times and each time is better than the last. The food is amazing - I have tried the chicken and veggie bryanni which are both very flavourful. Their appetizers - gol gappe, momos, and fried cauliflower are also delicious. The portions are great and the service is wonderful!“

“Seeing the stories of others who also fall victim to crypto investment scam tears me out badly. I remembered when I was in that same situation it wasn't really easy for me, but I was lucky enough to find my way to Helen Stamford who was so patient with me to explain all that happened and immediately she swing into action and recovered my lost funds to me. If you can provide receipt to all your transactions, you can recover your money. Email: helenstamford5@g mail. com she is a life saver.“

“Their butter chicken takeout special is the best value I could find in the area. Two large meals out of this special and the quality of butter chicken was bigger and better than dishes I’ve paid $25+ for. The sauce on their butter chicken is so good and thick, they don’t scrimp on their portions at all and my hats off to them as I believe they are doing a great service to people who are budgeting or broke in the local community. Can’t stop won’t stop Papa Day!“

“Loved that this place offers so many veggie options, include meat substitutes! And they offer rice or naan with each dish! I ordered veggie samosa and they were so flaky and stuffed full! The green chutney is incredible and I could have drank that! The other dip is a bit too thick/jamy for me. I also got the soy butter chicken which was phenomenal! So many pieces of beyond meat and the sauce was so thick and flavourful. Naan acts like a spoon with this dish as well! Prices are so good as well! Food was nice and hot and delicious!“

“My wife and I ate a late lunch at Delhi 6 on Saturday, April 27, 2024.The menu is table a la carte and not table d'hôte; the sides such as salad, naan bread, and rice are also separate dishes. We ordered:Samosa with chutneyMushroom masalaLamb curryPeas and onion pulao (i.e. rice)Garlic naan breadI enjoyed the samosa because the outside dough covering was just the right thinness (or thickness), crispy, and fresh. I also liked how the potato filling inside the samosa was cut into bite sized pieces. For me, biting into the just right thinness and seeing the inside ingredients chopped to the appropriate size speaks to the restaurant caring about the preparation of food. The opposite samosa would be one with an overly thick covering and inside potato filling cut into chunks, which I have unfortunately eaten plenty of and generally find lend themselves to falling apart during the first bite resulting in needing to quickly bend over so it doesn't spill all over or disintegrate on my clothes - not pleasant at all.The mushroom masala was excellent; it contained plenty of mushroom, and more mushroom than sauce. The lamb curry was also excellent. The rice was fine, but next time I would order the plain rice to go with the lamb curry because the flavour of the pea and onion pulao is lost when covered in lamb curry. I may have ordered the wrong type of rice to go with curry i.e. the pulao is meant to be the accompaniment for a different dish (e.g. a tandoori dish and not a curry dish). While I tasted bits of chopped garlic in the garlic naan bread, I thought it was a touch on the oily side and also too thin and airy. I had to fold the bread over before dipping it in the curry sauce so that the bread wouldn't bend under the weight of the curry. Not the end of the world by any means, but more dense and doughy naan bread for dipping would be preferrable. Our server was friendly, and came by often to check on things and to refill our water glasses. The total meal was $64.50 before taxes and tip. Definitely pricey from a dollar perspective for lunch, but the food came across as prepared (and not fast and lazy) so worth it in terms of value. I believe the menu is the same for lunch and dinner (but did not confirm).I recommend anyone who goes to this restaurant to go in at least a party of two (think of it like dim sum where it is better to go in a bigger group so one can try a little of everything).“

“2024 Update: Don't let the construction deter you from this delicious food. The people here always have respectful demeanors and are efficient in their service. The food is quality and fresh and the flavours are consistently good. There is pleasant and light music playing and it feels relaxed and peaceful. It's a good place to go if you want to enjoy the company of your companion along with good food. It is also very clean. One of my favourite Indian restaurants in Vancouver. Quality, taste, and pleasant service. Great environment too.Vegetarian options: There is a whole category of vegetarian options just like the other categories.“

“The service and food is very good - especially the Naan - some of the best I've tasted. We did the tasting menu and though there were some dishes that were better than others, overall, there were more hits than misses. The place is very dark so it's hard to see the menu and were we were seated was not the most comfortable. The table seemed too low - so not much leg room between the table and bench. $3.00 PP is added to the bill to pay for the musicians, which I have no problem with. The problem was more that the music can be too loud if you're seated close to it and I would have paid another $3.00 for more silence.“

“I’ve ordered the Lamb Kothu a few times but today’s portion/quantity looks low compared to other days. On a positive note, the flavor and taste is good. The counter girl (the shorter one) has a bit of attitude which is not a good representation of caring customer service.“

“My favorite Indian place! Agra Tandoori was the first Indian restaurant I ever tried, and not the last. The flavors and spices are on point, and having your dish paired with naan makes it 1000% better, after trying Indian food from here, I decided to try another restaurant, but none is like Agra Tandoori; I've never had to dine in, but the atmosphere is beautiful and service it's always great even for take out, they always leave a meaningful message in your order which makes the experience more familiar.“

Gave me a free samosas if i picked up myself, whic wasn't hard cause i was right around the corner, I was blown away by the service and all the food was incredible to boot. They are our go-to spot for Indian cuisine in Vancouver now!“

“Unassuming little restaurant on Kingsway sandwiched between an autobody repair place and vape shop. Seats about 10 people total. Super delicious food! I had the okra with a roti, chai, and one of the potato and beef balls. Such lovely flavours for all the dishes we tried and the carrot chutney had some good kick. A magical find and I will go back for sure! We all enjoyed our meals and the samosas.“

“I often visit this place as a friend who used to study in the downtown area swears by this place. Love it. It's actually a bit far from me but my friend and I still visit from time to time to have their food.If you can handle the heat, the Chili Chicken is a must-have. If you don't want anything as spicy, their shawarma, bamboo chicken and lentils are still pretty good.“

“I recently stumbled upon some reviews mentioning that people found the food a bit bland and had concerns about the restaurant's atmosphere and cleanliness. I felt compelled to share a different perspective. Mirchi, a genuine family restaurant, is personally overseen by the remarkable owner, Joseph, who's in his 80, and the place has been thriving for close to 20 years!Joseph pours his heart into Mirchi, preparing each meal fresh daily, crafting sauces from fresh tomatoes, and even making the naan from scratch. The dedication and authenticity shine through in every bite. While the building and interior have that charming, antique vibe, you'll find the tables, glassware, and plates are always in top-notch condition – super clean and tidy.Walking into Mirchi isn't like entering just any restaurant, it feels more like coming home. Joseph's love and commitment to the place make it stand out, creating an atmosphere that goes beyond the typical dining experience. It's not just a restaurant; it's a cozy spot where you can savor the rich history and dedication in every dish.“

“Finally found Indian food of similar quality to that found in the UK. The lamb and spinach is excellent, higly recommended. The butter chicken is good, but more similar to Tikka Massala as we know it. I will try the korma next time, will probably be more authentic.“
