“BEST IRISH PUB IN VANCOUVER”

“One of our favourite places in downtown. The food is absolutely amazing, and SO unique. The service is fantastic. Hannah was our server and she was so nice and attentive. We really appreciated the wonderful service. I definitely recommend the Miso Margarita and Teriyaki Beef Tacos. They are divine. We can’t wait to come back!”

“We finally had the chance to dine at Anna Lena. We booked ahead of time through their website as I think they discourage walk-ins or gets fully booked. Every dish is so good and prepared with great detail. I can't even say which one was my favourite. Service was superb. They all took turns to serve and they know every detail about the food and wine origins. It's like a farm to table fine dining concept.Presentation at its best. I think the Oyster and foie gras was one of my favourites. The fluffy snow flakes of shaved foie on the oyster was merely a touch of savory richness, along with a touch of acidity from compressed apple and a hint of heat from jalapeno mignonette, together they help showcasing the oyster as the big star, front and centre. Not mentioning the box it was in had a smoke when they opened it and I was awed. Wagyu was nicely prepared. Hokkaido scallop with that hot soup mushroom sauce was nostalgic and very good. The Noix de Saint Jacques Homard Pêches Chanterelles dessert was very delicious. I could still go on and on but theres too many dishes about 12? I forgot.We had the tasting menu for $148/pp and the wine pairings for I forgot how much and some cocktails. Oh, the cocktail drinks are all so good. The mug was like a lego brick which was kinda cool too. Overall, I paid about $500sh which includes the tip and taxes for 2 people. It was super worth it!!! Its a true dining/ culinary exprience. I left with a happy heart, very full, tipsy, in-love, and felt like I travelled to different places overnight. I won't hesitate to come back.Ps my photos wont do justice to the food and experience I had. The place was darker so lighting for photo is not the best.”

“The food at Bao Bei was an interesting asian-adjacent culinary experience. We had the family course dinner for a business group. There were wonderful and diverse flavors though the seasoning was very clearly intended for a western culinary palate, biased toward sweet rather than spicy flavors. Portions were adequate and the cocktails were really inventive and fun. I have to admit I was expecting a more authentic high-end Chinese meal, but what we had was delightful and quite memorable.”

“Excellent food and service. Special note of the gracious person on the phone who explained their reservation system and dining options. Would be 5 stars, but the room is small, and the volume generated by the one large group the last time we were there made it impossible for us to have a normal level conversation. This was not our experience other times when seating was tables of 4 or less so we will be back.”

“My experience at Savio Volpe was amazing! I have always wanted to try this restaurant ever since i’ve heard of it few yrs ago but unfortunately couldnt get in coz it’s hard to make a reservation. Glad i was able to get in this time. Me, my husband, my mom and in laws came over to celebrate our bday at this restaurant and it really surpassed our expectations. Our fave were the maple farm half chicken, primrose pork belly with scallops and green apple puree, tiramisu and amaretto bday ice cream! It was def chef’s kiss! Shout out to Steve for constantly checking on us making sure we were ok and we were enjoying our meal. We would love to go back again sometime in the future.”

“Ok I am going to start off this review by being a little bit conceded so I apologize in advance. I am not going to say I'm an expert in smashburgers or burgers in general, but my Knowledge of such more than likely surpasses most that have or will walk through their doors. I have been making and obsessing over smashburgers myself for well over a decade. So I can say with the utmost confidence that these SO FAR are most certainly the best smashburgers in the city. Simple, great crust with some nice lacy edges while still remaining relatively juicy, house made mayo, American cheese and very well caramelized onions. I then talked to a man whom I would assume was the owner and he obviously has great confidence and love for his burgers. He explained that the beef is grass fed and grass finished from local farms, I only wished I asked the grind and fat content, between 25 and 30% is the sweet spot for me. But I digress, you can't go wrong with these burgs so go now and go often! Especially when they open their brick and mortar spot.Vegetarian options: Impossible for the veggie eaters out there. The only way to get go. Beyond kinda sucks.”

“My wife and I recently went to St Lawrence to have their tasting menu. In my own personal opinion, this restaurant serves not just well developed flavors, but moods and feeling with each dish.To start with, a light fluffy cheese filled inside a ravioli shaped cracker. Next, a light and airy oyster soaked in sauce and foam - this is the best oyster I’ve eaten, and I live in the PNW.Next, an incredibly light thinly sliced scallop on top of a sunchoke with the delicious minced texture.Another standout dish was the sablefish with lentil and a a red wine sauce- if you’ve never had anything like this, all I can say is that the sauce has a flavor so warm and rich, you feel like you’re tasting warm sunlight.The beet terrine with preserved lemon and horseradish ice cream is the type of thing you would find at a French Michelin star restaurant in that it’s a combination of flavor and art. For me, these types of dishes feel like something I’ve never tasted before and push my boundaries.The staff went way above and beyond to make us feel welcome and they were very accommodating.I won’t spill all the secrets but if you want a taste of high French while also feeling casual and relaxing, this is a great place to experience new things for your palette. Would recommend.”

“Came here for dinner with some friends on a Friday evening. We got a table right away! This is my second time at this location and it did not disappoint. Still one of the best ramen places I’ve ever been to! The broth is so rich and flavorful and the portion was quite good for the price.Service was excellent as we got our food right away and our server checked up on us often. The environment was clean and well-kept. Would definitely come back here! 10/10!”

“I had an incredible experience here last Friday! My friends hosted a surprise bridal shower for me in the private dining room. The staff were thoughtful and helpful with the setup, allowing my them to come in early to decorate the space. They also did a flawless job with executing the surprise by pretending to bring me to a table first. The server was fun, warm and attentive throughout the night and I feel terrible that I’m forgetting her name! All the food was delicious, which has been the case every time I’ve been to Boulevard.”

“This is our go-to place for Indian food. Always great service and delicious food.The pic I added is the takeout we got yesterday. We both got the lunch combo special. Hers is without the chickpeas (subbed in extra butter chicken) and with the garlic naan. Mine is as-is: butter chicken, rice, chickpeas, and regular naan.We don't live nearby, so we usually have to use a food delivery service since we're outside of their 5 km delivery range. But whenever we're in the area, we usually stop in and grab some to take home.Parking: The area can be busy but there is paid parking along the street and they have a few free spots in the back.”

“This place is clutch! Open 24 hours, affordable price and tasty to boot??! Take my money! One slice is 3.25, two slices are 6.50 and 2 slices with a drink will only cost you less than 8 bucks. An absolute steal. They heat up the slices for you so it's piping hot. There are no soggy bottoms here and the crust is the perfect middle child of thin and original. Not too thin and not too thick. The marinara sauce is just a bit sweet so it marries well with all your toppings and cheese. I got pepperoni both times and the edges of the pepperoni were delightfully crisp. We were really impressed and thankful for this place during our stay. The cheapest eat during our entire visit, but just as satisfying as our other pricy restaurants. My toxic trait is thinking I should get pizza at 4 in the morn before real breakfast at 6am. And with this place, I can!!”

Maybe I'm so used to the old staff who always ask me if I want my food to be served together or not. I see lots of new faces, new staff most likely.I always order monkey brain (its mostly vege) so I always order it with some meat. This visit I order this with karagi (deep fried chicken). I assume staff will deliver it together since she did not ask me. I was surprised when she just drop it on my table without saying anything. By the time I got my monkey brain (vege) the karagi is cold. It's not big deal, I guess since Im still willing to go back here but A LITTLE ATTENTION TO DETAILS makes a lot of difference to the customer.I might give a better review if I see improvements in the future Vegetarian options: I will always recommend their "Monkey Brain"?ĺ”

“My first time trying white spot, believe it or not!My friend and I had a great time, we’ve been welcome with smiles and warmth then we choose our spot, decided to get outside and it was lovely. Our server was literally the nicest ever and helped me kindly but surely to enjoy as much as I could my dishes. He was a real professional, and if you read this lines I personally thank you again, I should have ask your name. I got myself the sweet potatoes fries, I was craving for those since a while, they were delicious then I got the tomatoes and spinach benny because Benny are a must to get, I added an extra bacon with it. It was really good. And to harmonized my lunch, I finished with the salted caramel milkshake… I was full and my heart soothed. Thank you ??”

“One of the best places to dine in Vancouver.Intimate, cosy with a great wine list. I've dined here more than a few times since they open and my last visit was by far the best. As the menu often rotates, it's always a great surprise each time.Dishes are heavily Asian influence, and the menu always includes a crowd favorite, the turnip soup. Although I feel like the portion of my last visit got a bit smaller, it didn't take away the incredible moment of sipping on the creamy (but with no dairy) deep turnip soup.Another outstanding plate during this visit was this onion and tuna dish. That onion alone stole the show. It was sweet, tender and every layer tasted different from the one before.Lastly wow the Charentais melon ice cream was the perfect way to cap the dinner. Same melon, done 4 ways. Could also use a bigger portion as the happiness dissolved in my mouth quite quickly.Wine pairing is highly suggested as the folks there are genuine enthusiasts and are great fun and hold a lot of knowledge.Sit by the bar if you can to watch chef Justin Song Ell create magic.”

“I came here with my fiancé for omakase. It was such a great experience as we had the whole restaurant to ourselves and sat at the sushi bar for the whole omakase vibe. It felt very special and intimate, the chef and his wife made us feel so comfortable. It was nice knowing details about each dish and the conversation was so effortless all while the chef was preparing every course. I love how most ingredient was imported and how each dish was specifically prepared a certain way, it was very well thought out.The pieces he would give were fat too, the chef definitely did not hold back. Usually we go to other omakase and we come out still hungry, but this one is worth every penny as you leave satisfied! The chef and his wife were so warm and friendly, even when we were late from the traffic! You definitely can feel the care and pride of the chef and his wife. When we come back to Vancouver we will be coming back here again.”

“I'm from Sydney and found this ramen place from Google maps. Also have lived in a ramen suburb for nearly a year in Japan, so my taste buds are well acquainted with the true ramen.Ordered Tonkotsu Shoyu ramen. Soup has the right balance of richness, body to it. Noodles are on the thicker side (as shown in one of the photos). The soup has more of the seaweed flavour as some other reviewers described, so it has a distinct character to it.Chashu uses the right fatty cut so it very soft and tender, not like some places where they use lean cuts.Bamboo shoots are also fresh.Perhaps the egg yolk can be slightly more runnier but I can't ask for anything more. I inhaled the entire bowl of noodes, slurped up all the soup in 15 minutes.This place is definitely worth repeats. If they can do a seemingly plain tonkotsu Shoyu ramen that well, every bowl will satisfy you!Thank you so much for bringing this perfect bowl of ramen.”

“I am a huge fan of fish and chips. This place becomes one of my favorite.I ordered cod n chip + clam chowder. If you are used to creamy chowder then you might not like it. Fish is very good and fries are excellent.This place beats all the one in Richmond BC.Deep fried foods are all greasy but at least after eating their fish & chips, it doesn’t make me feel I have a scoop of oil inside my mouth.”

“This is my absolutely go to place for vegan ramen in Vancouver since you can literally get multiple choices with different base of broth. Not only that, you can also add a vegan egg with them, though they only make a very limited amount of them. They also have vegan gyoza and two types of soy donburi for sides. I would suggest going when it’s not peak times, otherwise , you will have to wait for at least 30 minutes or so.Parking: There’s always free street parking in front if not during busy hours.”

“This establishment is a delightful location for a midday meal. My acquaintances suggested this establishment as it is a chain from Australia, and it certainly met my expectations. We were presented with a selection of pies, and we chose the fully loaded pie with mushy peas and mash, topped with gravy. It was absolutely delicious. There are not many tables with chairs, but takeaway is available.”

“I loved this place! The cheese tteokbokki was so good and they were perfectly chewy. The sauce wasn't too spicy so it was easy to enjoy. The dish is packed with rice cakes and fish cakes and loaded with cheese on top! I would have liked it if the cheese was more melted but it was still delicious. The soy garlic chicken was also juicy and crispy.”

The seafood linguini and oysters were fantastic, and the bread was a tasty highlight. However, the rib eye steak was disappointing as it was dry for a medium rare.Despite this, the overall experience was positive, and I would return, but I’d skip the steak next time.”

We dined here for supper on June 3, 2023, and absolutely loved the atmosphere as well as the food! Waterfront dining (they provide indoor/outdoor and roof top dining), with the water and mountain views was spectacular as we watched the sunset on the water. Our server Sean was very pleasant and courteous and made our time there very enjoyable. We started with Caesars and Soughdough Baguette, and then shared a Scallop & Prawns Linguine (we have smaller appetites). Both were absolutely Amazing dishes! The surprise birthday dessert was very much appreciated and delicious! We would say the cost is average for Vancouver restaurant dining. This is not a fast food restaurant, but chef prepared and is reflected in the presentation and taste! We will be back when we visit again!”

Classic HK style breakfast, creamy scrambled eggs and best of all a crispy shell pineapple bun that's soft on the inside. No need to go to Richmond anymore for Lido, this restaurant kills the pineapple bun with butter!”
