“I highly recommend Hunnybee! Wonderful breakfast and brunch options served in a cozy space with an informal and hip vibe. Vancouver’s best breakfast sandwiches and possibly the world’s best ricotta pancakes - they’re to die for. And in the evenings Hunnybee puts on taco and wood fired-pizza nights with a lively atmosphere. Small wonder that the place has a dedicated customer base.“

“5-Star not only for their coffee but also service. The staffs are friendly and polite. My latte is perfect. For breakfast, the avocado toast is very refreshing with a lot of cilantro mixed. Recommend to add poach egg as it goes really well together. The breakfast BLT is also tasty. Highly recommend!“

“Stumbled upon this cozy little neighbourhood cafe while passing by to sit down for a coffee. There's about four 2-person tables and a mini window counter that sits about 2-3 people and a table/bench outside.Staff is friendly, the quality of coffee is decent, and there is free parking at the front. Was here on a weekday afternoon, and there were lots of toddlers with their parents and grade school kids popping in and out. Overall, it gets noisy and is better suited for takeout, not the soothing kind of coffee shop with enough space to sit down in. More of a hustle and bustle neighbourhood corner if that is what you are looking for.“

“Had to stop by cuz it’s always smelled so good every time I’ve walked by prior.Had a beef dip sandwich (Friday special) that was absolutely gas. Flavour was top notch and the bread was spectacular. Texture is just as important as taste to me and the sandwich delivered.Service was very welcoming and friendly! I’ll be back to try the soups and deserts the next time I get a chance.“

“A new hidden gem near my workplace! When you are craving light food for lunch, this is the place to go! Love the wrap and obanyaki. Will definitely try more next time!Update:The original one was posted one year ago. In the past one year, I’ve had the chance to try different things such as scones, croffles, and soups. Chicken noodle soup with the freshly grilled bread is the best!“

“Despite the name, Kranky Cafe is staffed by the nicest, most pleasant people you will find anywhere. The vibe they've created here is everything you could want from a community cafe. I was made to feel so welcome from the first time I walked in, and since then the baristas have cared enough to remember me, learn my name, ask how I'm doing/what I'm up to and follow up on it the next time I'm back, which is sometimes a month or more later. I've really never been to a coffee shop where the baristas show such genuine interest in customers. I'm not naturally very outgoing so I usually don't really get to know staff at cafes that I frequent, but it's not like I feel like these people are forcing me to converse with them, they're just really nice and it is infectious! As wonderful as the people are, I wouldn't be coming back over and over again if the food wasn't equally as wonderful, but it absolutely is. Their baked goods are homemade and it's very evident in the quality - everything tastes so wholesome! The sandwiches and wraps are great - the Big Veg sandwich, my favourite, is a killer vegan option. And they make good drinks too. The espresso drinks are pretty standard but brewed strong (but not TOO strong), and I think all the tea drinks (including the tea lattes and just straight-up tea) are excellent. They offer a lot of variety in the menu. It's not a vegan cafe (there are plenty of meat options) but there are some very good options for vegans: an assortment of vegan baked goods and two vegan sandwiches. They whip up new things from time to time. It's pretty small inside but they have a lot of patio space for when the weather's decent. They have blankets you can use to keep warm. I love the vibe, it's colourful and cozy inside and the patio has a rustic garden feel. This is the place to visit if you need to lift your spirits.“

“Extremely good meals, coffee that’s close to top tier, and the best ambience of any cafe in the neighbourhood.Edit: Over time, these folks have continuously either improved aspects of their offerings, or kept them well-maintained and consistent. Still the undefeated champion!“

“Great cafe with good food and drinks, clean and modern atmosphere.Staff are friendly - layout is unusual but it doesn’t detract from the experience, just means you might not realize how big it is from looking in the window (there’s a bunch of seating with windows in the back).“

“Conveniently tucked away from the busyness of Commercial Street, Mah Milk Bar is such a lovely stop. My friends and I visited on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Staff were friendly, the food was delicious and their selection of locally sourced goods was incredible (we love some Mumgry & Calabash Jamaican Patties goodness). The space is small but accessible + there's outdoor seating & a park nearby if you're looking for more leg room.Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options!Dietary restrictions: There are some great options if you're lactose-intolerant.“

“Decided to treat myself yesterday and it had been awhile since my last time eating here. This restaurant never disappoints! I ordered the vegetarian breakfast burrito bowl and man was it ever delicious! The chipotle sauce that was drizzled overtop was just amazing and I would buy a bottle of it if I could! It was a large portion and worth every penny! Their wait staff are all very cheerful and friendly! One of my favourite places to go in the Westend!“
“Yesterday I stopped by the shop to buy some tea for my parents and decided to have tea there as well, I enjoyed my time trying special 50 years old tea and listening to stories that Daniel was telling me about tea’s history and how farmers harvest them in China, it was a great experience and I recommend to anyone who is interested in history and culture to go there and spend time having tea in the shop.“

“I am very picky about my matcha and this is my favourite spot to grab a matcha latte. They use a nice grade of matcha, prepare the matcha base properly with a matcha whisk, and the matcha to other ingredient ratio has been consistently good!Their hojicha latte and coffee drinks are also very good! LOVE the baked goods here. The staff are also wonderful! It’s located at E Hastings and Garden Dr along the main road (accessible by the R5 bus or 7 Nanaimo). Seating is limited, but the ambience is so cozy.“

Both are specific vibes and both were great plus delicious handhelds. I like this shop too it's sodas are ice cold. And I like that ..I didn't like the rice crispy square, I think my grandma used more butter. It's good..and no stars lost. this is good destination if you are on 900blck west Broadway or at the hospital ? nearbyWheelchair accessibility: It is accessible to wheelchair easily“

“Surprisingly high-quality waffles, both sweet and savoury, with plenty of vegan options that got us in the door. Beautifully-designed little cafe right on Water St, but with plenty of seating. The back page of the menu lists all the vegan options, including 4 sweet and 2 savoury. I got the Smoked Tofu ($19 plus tax) on a Liege waffle (choice between Liege or Norwegian), which is the fluffier of the two. The dish came out in about 10 minutes. You get one fluffy waffle with 5 pieces of smoked tofu, avocado and hummus, with what seemed like "Everything" spices, with a side of maple syrup. I wouldn't think the syrup would go well with this combo of ingredients, but it actually did. Despite not seeming like much food, it was plenty. I got an Americano as well ($4.75), which was pretty watery -- they need to use a lower water:espresso ratio. Very friendly and attentive service. Prices seemed a tad high, but this is Gastown after all. This place exceeded expectations.“
