“Stumbled upon this cozy little neighbourhood cafe while passing by to sit down for a coffee.There's about four 2-person tables and a mini window counter that sits about 2-3 people and a table/bench outside.Staff is friendly, the quality of coffee is decent, and there is free parking at the front.Was here on a weekday afternoon, and there were lots of toddlers with their parents and grade school kids popping in and out. Overall, it gets noisy and is better suited for takeout, not the soothing kind of coffee shop with enough space to sit down in. More of a hustle and bustle neighbourhood corner if that is what you are looking for.“

“We love Kristin and Henry! One of the nicest and warmest people we know! Our 3yo loves going and chatting with them haha. We feel so at home every time we have the privilege of going to home slice. They are always trying out new recipes and getting customers to try them out and tell them what they think. Everything is baked in house, and they even make their own vanilla syrup. Can’t say enough about this place.“

“Strawberry cheesecake bingsu- came with a scoop of ice cream on top, bowl lined with whipped cream cheese, and hidden corn flakes and cheese cake bits on the bottom. Absolutely delightful. There was a bit of wait for tables though. Lots of groups hanging out here.“

“5-Star not only for their coffee but also service. The staffs are friendly and polite. My latte is perfect. For breakfast, the avocado toast is very refreshing with a lot of cilantro mixed. Recommend to add poach egg as it goes really well together. The breakfast BLT is also tasty. Highly recommend!“

The mocha had a perfect balance of chocolate and coffee, while the chai tea latte had a great mix of spice and sweetness with a rich flavour! “The ultimate coffee-geek experience in Vancouver. This place has a unique vibe that makes you want to explore all their brewing methods and taste all their coffees. Ordered a flat white and was surprised at how small it was. Shrinkflation is everywhere these days. It was also not as hot as I would have preferred it to be. That being said, the service was great. Though we arrived 30 minutes before closing time and sat down to enjoy our order, they didn’t make us feel rushed. We’ll be back to try something new and will definitely order more waffles!“

“Great service. Wonderful food - done to perfection. Our group of six had the rack of lamb or the steelhead trout. Both were cooked perfectly and were very flavourful. The shrimp/scallop appetizer was amazing. For dessert, we had the lemon tart, cheesecake and the ganache. All were enjoyed immensely. The food, service and ambience were so superb that we've planned to come back to try the other entrees.“

There is a donation fridge where you can drop off what you don't need for others to pick up. Local art is shown inside amongst a barrage of oddly, yet interesting mirrors. I go there for the hot chocolate and gingerbread molasses cookies.“

“The Truck Stop Cafe is a 50's- 60's kind of cafe. Run by a family. Great food, clean place, friendly staff. My favorites so far are Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables with a bowl of homemade beef or chicken vegetable soup. And I like the breakfast eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. I'll be back to try another menu item. Truck stop cafe thank you for the delicious food and great service.“

Both are specific vibes and both were great plus delicious handhelds. I like this shop too it's sodas are ice cold. And I like that ..I didn't like the rice crispy square, I think my grandma used more butter. “I've gone to the Catfe several times but have never tried any of their food or drinks. I come solely for cats! Your visit really just depends on the personality of the cats when you visit! The staff always provide really good service. There's a handy handwashing station at the entrance. Lots of cat toy options to use. The ambiance is very casual, cozy, and clean. It's a little hot in there when the sun is out so beware--it's very exposed due to the large windows. You can easily cool down in shaded areas though. When I came at 1pm, a lot of the cats seemed really sleepy--it must have been siesta time! Most of the cats were really relaxed and didn't run away when you came up to them to pet them. One even sat in my lap for a few seconds before rascaling out. Overall, this place is great for my purposes--cat therapy lol. Not the best cat cafe in Vancouver though.“

“Wow! What an experience! The food here is amazing! The choice of patisserie is great! It is absolutely not easy to make a choice! I would have tried everything. The service is also very friendly and the atmosphere very comfortable. I can really recommend it!“

They use a nice grade of matcha, prepare the matcha base properly with a matcha whisk, and the matcha to other ingredient ratio has been consistently good!Their hojicha latte and coffee drinks are also very good! LOVE the baked goods here. The staff are also wonderful!It’s located at E Hastings and Garden Dr along the main road (accessible by the R5 bus or 7 Nanaimo). Seating is limited, but the ambience is so cozy.“
