“Fern cafe is consistently wonderful at offering the tastiest food and drinks, a fun atmosphere where I feel comfortable taking my kids, and they have the friendliest staff that go above and beyond to make the dinning experience special.Today we had a mix of sides, the fries, Caesar salad and Chickun, with a donut. The salad is always so good, just the perfect amount of dressing and crunchy crotons with lots of cheese on top! “ABSOLUTE BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN VICTORIA or anywhere that I’ve ever tasted. Their chicken is extremely crispy, juicy, tender and tastes insanely fresh as i believe it’s made to order. Also wanted to mention it’s very light so you don’t feel like you just ate a ton a fats and oils. I don’t know how they do this ? They also had a special on their 2 pieces of chicken which you can choose fried or roasted or regular or spicy. I chose regular fried chicken. They also have this deal on with their reg chicken burgers too. Such an incredible deal. I ordered delivery via Uber Eats and usually the food is soggy and cold. This was NONE of these. I was so impressed how hot and crispy the chicken was and the Korean chicken burger was ridiculously yummy and super crispy fried , golden to perfection. I asked for the Korean sauce on the side as I didn’t know how spicy it would taste and so the burger wouldn’t go soggy. It arrived fast and everything was still hot and crispy. I added pickles to my chicken burger and added my own tomatoes which made it perfect. You can pay a small fee to add these to any burger and I just felt it made it taste even more fresh than it already was. The brioche bun was definitely fresh and so was every other item that I ordered. The Korean sauce wasn’t crazy spicy but I’m glad I got it on the side so I could.control how much I wanted so I used it more as a dip for my French fries that were also crispy , golden , and fresh. I did put them in the air fryer for 3 minutes and then they tasted just like they came out the air fryer. I was so incredibly impressed with every item I ordered as the prices are extremely reasonable considering the amount of food you get plus the quality is like nothing I’ve ever had before. I wish i could have given 10 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ as the food was way beyond my expectations. I would definitely order again and I highly recommend them to anybody and everybody possible. I’m so excited to try other menu items to review as I’m sure they’ll be just as delicious as everything I ordered. Since there is so much food I now have enough for 2 lunches and a dinner. I even called to thank them and Ann was so incredibly polite and gracious. This is definitely a gem in Victoria. Plus they are open from 11am to late most nights til 1am and Thursday -Saturday til 3am for you late night eaters. It’s honestly the best food I’ve had in a very long time and I don’t feel all weighted down and sick because it was not greasy at all. I can’t stress enough how delicious it is and how reasonable the prices are even without the buy 1 get 1 free deals they have right now on Uber eats. Thank you so much Hi Five chicken for everything. “The people here are so so lovely and the food is very good! Fresh fish, good portions, reasonable prices. The poke bowls are particularly tasty, and their rolls are also always excellent (caterpillar roll and futomaki roll are two of my favourites). Also have a fun assortment of drinks including several flavours of Ramune. Easy to order online, usually prepared within 15-20 minutes for pickup. My coworkers and I are regulars.”

“The staff are overworked due to the homeless situation in Victoria, in terms of their washrooms. They keep their family washroom closed due to finding people camping or showering inside, which sounds like it can make quite a mess for the staff.While I find it completely frustrating to have to wait to use a washroom when there is another one available, often to find that the toilet paper has all been taken or used or the washroom in disrepair due to the situation, I can still have some sympathy for the staff. They shouldn't have such a burden being placed on them.Our government should be doing more to ensure proper washroom/shower facilities for the homeless, which can then be cleaned by someone other than the fine folks who are making our breakfast. But I think they're leaving these people to rot as a warning to the rest of us.”

“I would like to say that Hamsa working at the Goldstream Village (Langford BC) Tim Horton’s outlet I had occasion to sit watching him produce his orders in a timely and efficient manner, but more than that he had outstanding customer service skills with each and every person he came in contact with. During a time when it is difficult to get valuable employee’s who are an asset to the Tim Horton’s brand name, it was gratifying to see that this outlet had hired an exemplary employee. It was interesting to see that there were other employee’s “goofing around” but this didn’t distract Hamsa from doing his job. Again I appreciate the outstanding service Hamsa is providing at this outlet.”

Yesterday, one of his co-workers mis-heard me in the drive through (and tbh wasn’t very kind about it and was certain I ordered wrong… I can hear you even in my car lol). I was charged for food I didn’t order and the total was $$$. After I tapped my card, I realized the order was wrong. Josh did the MOST for me. The register machine wouldn’t refund me and Josh was willing to try everything before alternative options (like a gift card). Josh + the co-worker with a beard… legends! Your costumer service skills are top-notch and deserve some recognition.”

I found the fish and chips were very standard, but their best food is probably their punchy chowder I’d say. I’d never had such a delicious and flavourful, little bit spicy and full bodied chowder!!! The Tacone was very fresh, with the ahi tuna.The area is pretty but since it’s busy there’s not always a place to sit. Just be aware the experience can be a bit overwhelming with how busy it can get! Love it otherwise :)”

“Ferris' is a great spot for seafood eats for casual, intimate dining without being formal. Portions are generous, beverages are good, and the overall vibe is cool. The menu on offering had a lot of variety including pasta dishes, soups, fried fare , and more. The fresh oysters on the half shell and our other appetizer were delivered to our table within minutes of ordering, and our mains arrived at the perfect time. All of our dishes were piping hot and fresh from the kitchen. The food was incredibly delicious; mains, sides, and all. The fish and chips in particular were superb -- battered and fried perfectly. The three of us all left very satisfied with the amount we were served. Only minus was the very moody lighting inside. It was hard to see my friends just a few feet in front of me before my eyes adjusted!”

Great coffee nice patio out back and cool atmosphere.Cons: Not the cleanest place I’ve been in. Lots of crumbs on the tables and rings on my coffee cup. Not a huge deal, but still.Overall: I go at least once a week because it’s a dimly lite place that’s nice to sit and have coffee-scone meditation time early in the morning. The place is always pack and by 9-10 these a line to the door. That speaks for itself. Would recommend a visit if you haven’t had the pleasure. Would also recommend the staff give the tables a wipe.”

Our server, Raj, was pleasant, professional, and ever so friendly.* update for Celiacs…. I did suffer a celiac reaction post this initial review. Looking further on the web it seems they do not have a dedicated fryer (would love confirmation). My guess is that the pakora I had was cross-contaminated with Samosas, etc.”

“Yay! Finally a poutine that isn't stupid salty and so fresh and flavorful! Service was pleasant and quick. Easy downtown location on the wharf and wee birds politely waiting for remnants after people left. Lots of locals waiting on their lunch. The most pillowy cheese burger I've ever eaten, ordered as listed. The curds aren't as salty as the ones we've had elsewhere (and bought at Costco) and the fries were fresh and hot, even a random steak fry made an appearance! One of my favorite Canadian poutines for sure!”

“Busy efficient store in Eagle Creek Village, within walking distance of Victoria General Hospital (a longish walk). Always quick, friendly but no time wasted. While there is no drive through, there are dedicated 5-minute parking spots for Mobile Orders. (I always recommend ordering ahead anywhere any way, much more efficient for you and, I think, the staff!)Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp, stairs and level access, depending where in the shopping centre you're coming from.”

Some of the staff were at another location that I frequented in the recent past and have treated me well at both locations. That was truly excellent customer service and I really appreciated that he recognized the awkwardness while I ate my meal and everyone else was done.Also, because of that we ordered an extra bottle of wine so I think it was a win for everyone.So great recovery and this saved the evening. “Okay this is my first time leaving a review this place is really amazing and I'm not just saying that the staff and the manager are great the food is pretty damn good specially the donors cuz usually I go for the pizzas cuz their pizzas are phenomenal and whatever you guys ask for they do it up for you I've been with the gorge one for 6 plus years off and on and now I'm at the quadra Street and the staff is really nice there too. I think a lot of people should try out this place the one on quadra Street and Gorge and you're really get bang for your buck I noticed even their pastas really good too and they have delivery or you can go pick it up and they have pretty good prices too. “Excellent location but our table was near the restrooms and a staff exit which was not ideal. However our server took extra care of us to compensate for the table location. The kale salad and coastal Hawaiian pizza were excellent. The draught beer was fresh and tasty. The restaurant location on the harbor with close proximity to our hotel was wonderful. Can't wait to go back and either sit in the main dining room or at the beautiful bar.”

“We had a 4:00 Reservation and arrived on time. We were seated in a very nice secluded area by the window. We tend to have the same things, Hubby, prime rib and Me, pistachio crusted salmon. Both we as good as always. Service was extremely nice and pleasant. Thank you as always.”

“Steamship grill is our go to restaurant when we visit Victoria on a sunny day. We definitely find the happy hour pricing worth the visit. Highly recommended the tuna tataki! I tried the blue cheese/ pear pizza without the fig drizzle. Unfortunately the crust was overcooked and even without the drizzle was far too sweet. We will go back, I just wouldn't order that pizza.”

“Super long wait. Just be warned! It can be a 40-1hr wait sometimes. But wow delicious! My fav is the tacones and the chipotle chowder. I found the fish and chips were very standard, but their best food is probably their punchy chowder I’d say. I’d never had such a delicious and flavourful, little bit spicy and full bodied chowder!!! The Tacone was very fresh, with the ahi tuna.The area is pretty but since it’s busy there’s not always a place to sit. Just be aware the experience can be a bit overwhelming with how busy it can get! Love it otherwise :)”

“My wife & I (60's) thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Earl's. Our server Bayleigh was a treat; great service, combined with a good sense of humour. i ordered the 9 oz sirloin, unfortunately I just missed out on the last 9 oz in inventory, so went with the 6 oz. A small hiccup as I ordered it medium rare but it arrived more like rare to blue rare. Notified Bayleigh and she promptly returned it to the grill, came back very quickly just right, medium rare. The manager Reese came over to make sure all was well. Susan had the Cajun salmon which she quite enjoyed. As a bonus, we dined on a Wednesday which is 50% off bottles of wine & $5 off steak night. We very much appreciated being seated in a quiet section as per my Open Table request. We will return upon our next getaway to Victoria.”

“Had a family celebration here this week & what a fabulous evening! Everything was great, from the atmosphere, the food, the service to the OMG dessert. The tiramisu was sooo delicious, as was the passion fruit panna cotta. “It was the perfect place for a beautiful evening with views of the ocean from our window table. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. We ordered the 4 course prime rib dinner. The service was above the expected. The servers were personable and helpful. The restaurant paced the dinner so we were not rushed at all. Fine dining is almost a lost art in Vancouver. So we were thrilled to find this ocean front gem with delicious food. A bonus was the no-hassle parking. We will return on our next visit to Victoria from Vancouver.”

We went back multiple times and no other restaurant in Victoria that we ate at compared to it. We would even joke that we should have just eaten there again, any time we ever tried a different restaurant during our visit to Victoria. Highly recommend.”

“Tasmin was our server When we arrived, it was very busy, Tasmin seated us quickly in the "VIP" section which made my kids very excited. She was an absolute wonderful server, she was personable, funny and very knowledgable and helpful with the menu. She made our visit one of our favorite memories from our vacation. I would highly recommend this restaurant to families, it is a great atmosphere. Also, they offer a gluten free menu if you have dietary restrictions.
