“Being a former sailor, I just had to stop by Shellback Tavern to see what it was all about. I felt like shore patrol would stop by and drag me out, which is a good thing! This is a wonderful little spot with a local vibe. Everyone is so warm, laid back and friendly. I tried their mango cart beer which is definitely a must try if you visit. The fish and chips were incredible and very generous portions along with very fresh fries. The chef even comes out to check to make sure you’re happy with your order. If you’re ever in Manhattan Beach and have never visited this restaurant, you’re missing out.“

“We tried this place with some friends after many weeks driving by and seeing it. We were not disappointed. We had the guac & chips, egg rolls as starters, and we ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, chicken wrap, ahi tacos and braised rib tacos. All were excellent. We were all very pleased and felt that was great food for the price. Definitely want to go back and try some new things.“

“Absolutely everything we ordered was incredible....the pretzel loaf, duck pasta, wild boar risotto, sticky Thai ribs....perfection! If you like gin, try the Hanky-Panky....not too sweet and very refreshing. The room is lively but you're still able to converse without a problem. Ambiance is fantastic!“

“Super delicious food and a diverse beer selection. The Brussel Sprouts are incredibly good. The burgers too. It's also great that 2 small burgers are served in the children's menu. These are easier to eat with small children's hands. We were there on a Wednesday evening and "got into" a trivia game that was held in the beautifully designed back area of ​​the restaurant and offered us great entertainment, even if we didn't play. “Walkable from my house which is huge bonus. Sweet, helpful staff. We went for Happy hour. Had 2 delicious drinks. Tried the deviled eggs...who doesn't love bacon on their eggs? We also had the fish and chips-dint really love f and c but damn this was tasty. Just the right amount of batter and fish. Nice spacious, well lit place. Parking lot available in back!“

“Came here for some drinks. It was my first time trying this spot. They play loud music, have pool tables and air hockey games. Alot of TVs around so it's a great place to watch games. I liked the nostalgic decor in the bathrooms and old magazine style cut outs laminated on the bar tables. Great energy and the people are really nice too. They make a really good espresso martini. We shared the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.Parking: They have metered parking and paid parking garage“

“I have dined here for almost 10 years or so, and I come here often for a good reason, so I sincerely wish I could rate this 5 stars. The atmosphere is fun and it's a good place to sit down, relax, and have a good time (in terms of going to a restaurant). The food is generally good but almost every time I order the nachos and explicitly ask them for no jalapenos and peppers, they put them on, as they seem to forget the exact order when it gets to the kitchen. I have had to send food back, and while I do not want to be a pest, I keep having to death with this issue and have gotten frustrated. On a more positive note, when I order other foods, they usually come out pretty good, especially for a non-formal bar. I recommend the house salad and the Chicken Fingers. If you want something less casual, this place might not be the best dining options. I am 90% sure there are less casual options, though.Parking: Depends on the day. Sometimes incredibly easy to find parking, and other days nearly impossible.Kid-friendliness: Despite being a bar, it is surprisingly kid friendly.“

“This place is so great! The drinks were delicious. It was Kentucky Derby Day so I got a Mint Julep. All my friends enjoyed their craft cocktails as well. I did mostly shared apps and each one was delicious. I mixed the meatballs and the truffle mac. Sweet potato bombs were a hit. Zucchini fries were excellent! Far enough away from the Pier to find a parking spot. Everyone was really nice. I was able to get seated and wait comfortably for all my friends to show up late. :)“
