“First time dining in at Lunasia Pasadena and it won't be our last! We attended an event at the Pasadena convention center on 3/9/24. We walked around to find a good place for dinner and Yelp guided us to. Lunasia. We checked in and got on the waitlist. A few minutes later, we were greeted and got seated. It was nice to not have to wait for a while as the restaurant seemed busy. We placed our order online and not long after, our food started to arrive. Everything was delicious! We ordered a lot! Shumai, hargow, seafood pan fried noodles, salt and pepper suid, salt and pepper pork chops, orange chicken, shrimp eggrolls, pork soup dumplings, deep fried chicken wings, pork puff and sesame red bean balls. Everything was tasty and delicious! How you expect some food to be crunchy, they were crunchy! Those that are supposed to be moist and juicy, they were! The flavors of each item were on point! Can't stop talking about how good the food was. Prices are comparable to others. Servings were good portions. Service was friendly and efficient. The staff worked as a team and they took care of everyone that needed anything. The ambiance was also great. Modern and clean. They also have an upstairs so they can accommodate large groups. They are located in Pasadena on Colorado blvd. We parked at PCC for $15 and it was worth it. It was close to a mall and other restaurants. If you haven't tried Lunasia and you love shumai, you have to try this place bc you will love everything about it!“

“I stopped by to see what all the fuss was about of this new colette rest.. was a little reluctant from previous ownership. Well I do have to say, Brilliant!!! This churro French toast and avacado toast with the option of an egg was magnificent. On top of the excellent food, I had an absolute amazing experience with the service. Peter I believe was his name, gave us a run down of the menu and gave us one of the best experiences in dining I've had in a long time. If I were you, I'd go check this place out, great service and amazing food! “

“The service was wonderful. Our waiter was so attentive and accommodating. The food was overall good. I definitely wished the steam vegetable dumpling tasted a bit more fresh. I do recommend trying the vegetable noodles. They were very delicious.“
“Located inside Kitchen United Mix. The two pan fried dumplings i tried were both delicious. Flavorful and plump with crispy skin. Soup dumplings were pretty good with the ginger. However, I was pretty disappointed with the bun I received though. Ordered pork one but got beef instead and the beef was very dry and hard.“

“I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time now and glad I finally did. As a local Pasadena restaurant I've seen many businesses at this location change many times. So far this restaurant has been doing well since covid. Food: double cheeseburger bao: it came with fries. The bread was super soft and fluffy. The burger was surprisingly juicy and delicious. The fries were on the skinnier side. I would prefer either thicker fried or tater tots. Sui Mai and hargow(shrimp dumplings)Sui Mar and hargow was fresh and delicious. It wasn't salty it's definitely the same if not better than going to downtown Chinatown. This was a lot closer and good to know that I can get dim sum until 9pmIce tea:Was fresh and cold. Not too sweet and not water down.Restaurant:We went here around 730pm and literally there was one person here eating which I prefer peace and quiet. I actually took my family and baby here. They're normally busy and most of their orders are from grub hub or other online food services.Parking: I came here after 6p there plenty of parking which is an outside parking lot shared by Teddy's tacos and subway. During the daytime it's a limited parking time of 40mins. The majority of people that eat here during the daytime are PCC students.Overall experience:I highly recommend giving them a try. If you like dim sum and burgers this is the place to go to“

“This place used to serve Dalian cuisine, but in the past two years it has changed to Hong Kong dim sum, which is really good. My two daughters love coming here to eat. There are not many dishes, but they are all delicious. Every time, I must order preserved egg and lean meat porridge, chicken feet, sesame balls, fresh meat rice rolls, and barbecued pork rice rolls. It's available for takeout, but it's still fresh and delicious. David is very friendly. It has the fireworks of Guangdong and Hong Kong, as well as American hospitality. I hope to become a long-established store and keep it open.“

“This is our second time here and the food was just as good as the first time we went there. It’s my husband’s favorite spot for beef noodle soup. The pan fried buns were crispy on the bottom and soupy on the inside (perfection). Try the honey green tea! It big enough to share between two people. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for delicious Taiwanese food! They also have a nice parking lot (unlike most places in LA).“

“So good!! Food: Amazing. I ordered the assorted yaki gyoza (veggie pork chicken and shrimp) and it was so good I ordered 6 more pork gyoza. Perfectly cooked with a nice crisp to the bottom, amazing flavor, and so juicy. They have different ways to prepare, I think yaki, maybe steam (don't quote me) and in the soup. The soup was also really flavorful and good (and hot haha watch out). They also have a ton of side sauces to choose from, but I love the basic ponzu. Better gyoza than a lot of ramen shops (IMO those usually have too much garlic) and reminded me of great gyoza spots in japan. Price: dude so cheap. I bought food for two people: an assorted bento, an assorted 6 piece, rice, and edamame for around $30. Ambiance: super chill, decent amount of seating, not super loud and can have convos easilyCustomer service: super friendly, explains everything, super cute drawings on the containers, quick as well.I think it's fairly new so business is still trickling in. Hoping they thrive so that I can keep coming back, I'll definitely be craving this again very soon.“

“Our Mom's favorite and regular "go-to" place so much so that maitre'd, manager & wait staff knows her table and ready with her preferred tea. Granddaughter relishes CT's black truffle chicken dish which we now order whole so she can take leftovers home. Each time we try a different dish and CT hasn't missed.“

“What an awesome little restaurant that popped up here. Was looking to try something new and found this amazing little bao spot. The most amazing thing is how they fry these bao. The bottom is hard and crunchy and the top is soft, making a soup filled bao in either seafood, curry or the standard pork. They sell them in quantities of 6 and 2 to 3 is enough to fill me! Highly recommend a quick lunch or dinner here, you won’t be disappointed in the authentic flavors.“

“I’ve visited the one in Cerritos many times. This one is more traditional in terms of design and layout. The tables are a bit uncomfortable on two sides because the table jams into your leg. However, the food is to die for. The food is so good. Stop by and have some dim sum. The string beans are also amazing.“

“I loved the place, very cute hall vibe but unless you know what the whole set up is. You really come in blind I tried so hard to communicate but was unsuccessful. And it showed on the check paid for it but it was really good just wish things were described or explained better I wish I knew the language but I don't but there was a really friendly staff that spoke Spanish. And she made our stay really worth while so did the food. Next time i will know how the wheels turn“

“This is a nice and simple no frills place, you go in, you point to what you want and they package it for you to go. No sit down area. I didn’t see a menu explaining any of the dishes, so I was a little confused on what to do when I initially arrived. Please be prepared to order when it’s your turn, otherwise it might be a little intimidatingThe food though, so good and good price for dim sum with great flavors“

“Arrived at 8:30 with no reservations. Waited about 1 hour for a table to open up. The check-in process was very efficient and you'll get a text when the table is ready. This location is in a mall so you can kill an hour easily. We were sat "outside" but it felt cozy with heaters and covered/private even though it is right next to Central Ave. (A main thoroughfare). Service was quick, friendly and efficient. You can fill out your own order on the slip provided, and then a server will review it with you to make sure you get what you want. They were great about communicating how the trays will be brought out, since they bring them out in stages to make sure you get them warm and fresh. Everything was fresh and tasty. We ordered 2 trays of soup dumplings, green beans, & potstickers plus a lychee green tea. Also the special sticky rice cooked in a taro leaf. So yummy. A+ for food and service. It was very busy and a bit loud so the atmosphere for me is nice, but no so chill. Still a solid B ++. Give it a try. You'll have a good time. Try something new.“

“The food was delicious!! My friend and I ordered 6 different plates because we couldn't narrow it down to a few. My favorites were the wonton soup and the lemon pork. The chicken fried rice was also good, uniquely salted, which we both enjoyed. The only downside was the service. We got food but no water or drinks that we ordered until we couldn't find our server for 30 minutes, and the gal bussing the tables helped us. It happens. We will be back because we have more to try. The menu's enormous.Parking: Park behind the restaurant.“

“Currently my number 1 dim sum joint beating out Lunasia marginally. Excellent food and has some unique dishes. They tried to make the place look nice but you see what it is. Regardless food trumps all and it’s clean. Let’s see who can topple them!“

“Wah Sing Dim Sum, on San Gabriel Blvd., is just below Las Tunas Drive. The only time they've disappointed me is when I forget they're closed on Wednesdays. Other than that they make some of the yummiest dim sum around. They make my favorite charsiu.... chasu? chashu?? -- anyway, favorite bbq pork steamed bao here. I don't know what makes them so good. I think there's a hint of ginger in that filling. Their stir-fried noodles, $5.89 under the "Chef's Special" section, are also a steal. Their steamed sausage rolls are good as well. I've only ordered my food to-go. I've only seen diners inside one in a while although admittedly I usually stop in the early afternoon. The ladies behind the counter are no nonsense but sweet; they've thrown a sample my way once or twice. The wait for your food can be more than a few minutes, especially if that item you want isn't fully steamed yet, especially if they're busy, but the extra wait is worth it. They're a dim sum hole-in-the-corner of a strip mall dominated by a Good Fortune Supermarket, which means tons of parking. In fact, every single time I've been there, there's always another customer-- or several customers-- waiting to order, or waiting to receive their order. Speaking of ordering, they have the standard golf pencils (next to a bottle of hand sanitizer) for filling out the order form. There are also laminated menus with photos. Wah Sing is a dim sum dark horse that won't disappoint. Unless you go in a Wednesday“

“I've been coming here since 2018, and I come here at least once every month. For me, it's the only restaurant I visit consistently! As I get bored with most places I eat at. The food is great, but be warned, bring a buddy bc they serve you feast style. You can't just get one side. You gotta get a minimum of 3 sides, and so bring a person with you to enjoy it fully! Nice and quiet, and has an old-school feel without all the drab. I really live eating here! The dumplings are great! I recommend uuhhh any of them!“

“Very friendly and accommodating. Good quality, reasonable prices, quick service. The restaurant is small, only a few tables. In this post pandemic world where more and more of us prefer takeout or dine in, this is a great place for dim sum.“

“I seldom went for dinner but tonite a friend wanted to give me a treat. The food ordered are a bit off. Maybe the dishes were not my favourite, maybe the chef at night are not as good as other times. And it’s unusually quiet compared to lunch hours. Anyway, a little bit disappointed!“

“We went here on Sat around 12:00 noon. The plaza is doing remodeling now. You only can take elevator to the restaurant on the 5th floor. You check in with a lady and she gives you a ticket with a number. You wait in the lobby till your number is called. The service is slow and you need to be aggressive to ask for food, and services. Overall experience is fun and food is good.“

“The size of their dim sum is double of other restaurants or take outs. Cash only keeps their prices reasonable. They also offer noodle dishes but I come specifically for the shumai and har-gow.Parking: Parking gets tight during busy hours but service is fast, depending on ur order so people vacate the parking spots frequently.“

“Thought it would just be a quick bite of Shanghai Pork Ribs Glutinous Rice Cakes, but flipping through the menu felt like a trip back to Shanghai—each dish a deep-rooted memory!Even so, we went all out and ordered a bunch of dishes. Each one was authentically Shanghai, and I especially recommend the Wine Chicken. Honestly, wanted to try everything on the menu. The Pork Ribs Glutinous Rice Cakes, originally the main attraction, took a back seat. Auntie even brought spicy soy sauce and hot chili powder from Shanghai—selling the sauce for $6 a bottle. The chili powder isn't for sale, but she'll give it to you. Added a new item to the wishlist: Conquer their entire menu!“

“Had dinner with my family last Friday and boy is this place fancy. We arrived around 5:30 and it was pretty empty. There are private rooms and apparently, that's the place to be because our server kept disappearing into those rooms with some amazing dishes of stir-fried clams, crab, and whatnot. But, back to my dinner: we ordered a sampler platter: bbq pork, duck and roast pork with cracklin' skin. The center portion was goma wakame seaweed salad, stir fried string beans with (very salty) minced pork; beef shortribs that were tasty, but kind of tasted like pork (it was definitely beef), fish filet with tender choy sum, seafood soup, and one other dish. If you want steamed fish, it will be market price (pricey, no surprise). Generally, the food was very flavorful and well executed, espcially the veggies and roast pork -- the string beans were the best! I would say some of their dishes are not what I'm used to from other Chinese restaurants flavor profile-wise (not that it's a bad thing), so I'll have to come back to try some of their seafood dishes. Service was pretty good. Our waiter was dressed up and wore gloves. The place has a hotel banquet hall vibe. Seems this place is popular for dimsum as I've heard, so I'll have to come back during the day and see how that goes. Will be back!“

“The red bean puff is so delicious. This is a really good dim sum place I’d highly recommend it. It is now one of my favorite places and I can’t wait to go back. The prices are also very reasonable. Best custard bun I’ve ever had. I did miss choosing the dim sum from the carts though.“

“Haven't been back here since it's been sold from two owners ago. The switch to Shanghai cuisine is nice! I like the way the 馬蘭頭 (Indian Aster) was finely chopped. It's the smallest I've seen anywhere! The 油爆蝦 was cut down the middle to better let the oils get all the way in, making the skin really crisp! Their 外灘香酥鴨 ("Outer Beach" Crisp-Fried duck) was really good. It looked like it would have been dried out, but the juices stayed inside, and still maintained a crispy skin. The 蔥烤立魚 (Scallion-grilled Snapper) was alright, it featured a sweet-soy sort of taste, that smothered the entire fish with. The 紅燒肉 (Red-braised Pork) is pretty standard, but still good! Just make sure to be ready for the Heart attack! Then we topped it off with the 白果污泥甜湯 (Gingko + Tarot Puree Dessert Soup).Parking: Shared with the Tasty Choice. Be careful of parking at the back. Not sure if it belongs to a Chinese church or not.“
