“Had a light lunch at Cascade poolside at the Biltmore and it was fabulous. You can’t beat the beautiful location next to the pool. I ordered Shrimp Ceviche and a Stella. The ceviche was very fresh with bits of avocado, mango and jalapeño and lots of lime juice. It was very tart just the way I like it. The chips were fantastic with a sprinkling of Tejin—Spicy and crunchy. They were out of Stella on tap, so I had the can, which was fine, but not as good a the tap. The service was prompt and friendly. If the rest of the menu is a good as the Ceviche, you’re in luck!“

“I’m Cuban and very specific about where I eat Cuban food. Alma Cubana is approved by my Cuban palate. I was very impressed by the vaca frita (pictured) and the super passionfruit mojito. Magela was very kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and helped us make some great selections.“

“Best food hands downI love the freshnessJust like the islands. What a wonderful culinary experience and learning lesson. I have only had Haitian food once. So I’m still learning. William and all the staff is always kind, friendly, knowledgeable they take their time helping you make food choices and if you don’t know what something is they’re explain it to you. I’m a city girl born and raised in Chicago so I’m not always familiar with everything on the menu. William kindly suggested fish and sweet plantains over green plantains what the difference I said who knew? Learn something new everyday.Can’t wait to to go back and try the oxtailsSnapper and everything on the menu.Also got to meet Chef I just happened to be leaving as he was coming in very cool, smart business man.Congratulations to the Team. “The Lifeguard by Edwar Simal Cafe & Restaurant and John, Eddy, & Joseph were amazing!The Lifeguard Cafe is amazing both service & quality of food. I had the Ham & Cheese Omelette(good & hearty), & the Signature Sweet Pancakes, those pancakes were a tiny bit of heaven, complete perfection. My family stumbled upon this unique cafe during our hunt for a brunch spot with good food @ a reasonable price after our 7 day cruise. John greeted us outside while we were checking out their menu, & was happy to make accommodations for all 14 of us. All service was stellar, they even gave us detailed descriptions of some of the menu items we had never had before. Some of us tried the Tropical Bombon espresso drink, delicious! The atmosphere is very welcoming for an art gallery, that doubles as a cafe. You just have to go for yourself, you’ll love it!“

“Great find. The spicy beef patty was *perfect* - flaky crust, chewy underneath, meat perfectly seasoned. Not dry at all. Also got the jerk chicken plate - the meat was so tender, and they offered to pour a gravy of my choice on the rice and beans, which made it so tasty. Will be a regular here.“

“The environment is clean and organized well . The woman who served me was polite and efficient with serving my plate. I ordered a small jerk chicken plate with oxtail gravy on the rice. The food is delicious and has a true Jamaican flavor the jerk has just enough spice to let the smoky flavor and other seasonings shine through , I usually don’t eat macaroni salad but this one was so creamy and refreshing.The rice was fluffy and fresh definitely a great spot for lunch or dinner will definitely be ordering again“

“By far the best fried rice I've had to date! Chinese food is my thing so this says a lot. It was loaded with meat and the flavor was impeccable. Service was quick, we were in and out. If you're looking to sit and eat go somewhere else because it's not that type of restaurant.“

“We had a large party of 10 and they were great in changing my reservation from 8 to 10 with no issue. Seated right on time. Table was comfortable even with the 10 people. Food was very good. Most had seafood and steak. Everything came out at the same time and all were hot. Food order was spot on with no issues. Server(s) were great. I recommend if you want a nice place that is not expensive to meet with friends, co-workers or a family outing.“

“As a foodie, I give Chef Jimenez and his new restaurant the maximum of stars. I have taken other foodies and chefs for business meetings and we have all agreed that his “sazón” is perfectly balanced and executed. Kudos to the owner for a superb accomplishment of latin American fusion cuisine. It’s the type of food that leaves you craving to try more of his creations.“
