“I was reminded of exactly why I love this café when picking up some pastries today:• The coffee is delicious and everything is made with attention and care.• The décor and music make me smile every time I walk in. (When is the last time you can say that about any chain eatery?)• The women who own and operate the café are super friendly, always greet you with a smile and are clearly very competent at running a business. (Did I mention everything is spotless?)I hope you support this family business – I know I will.“

I asked why the black color, was told bec made of black corn. I read colored with natural extracts too. Gluten-free. Have to try the other ones. Only a small table seating outside.“

“This place looks LOVELY! I used to live a block away from them over a year ago so I would pass by pretty frequently after work to get some alfajores, pan de bono or chicken and cheese buns -and their pastries were always very very good ?Super clean and cozy with many outdoor seats, perfect for summer - not really that many seats indoor thoughI passed by again a couple of days ago and their alfajores have changed quite a bit ? not really a fan of the new version BUT their pan de bono was delicious! They now have more pastry options (like pan de bono with guava filling ? - super tasty by the way)I would definitely love to return another time to grab some breakfast and coffee - and try some of their latest menu additions“

The only issue is the rice which was exceedingly moist, definitely more than any I ever had in Colombia, the US or anywhere else. Barring this, every aspect was great!“

“I love a good empanada and while these are not the empanadas from Caracas at Far Rockaway beach, being that these are so accessible, I am a fan. I picked up an assortment of 10 empanadas to take to a party and they were a huge hit. I wasn't sure about the "fried" arepas being too greasy given I am used to baked empanadas, but I really enjoyed both the baked and fried options that I tried. I wish that they offered more baked options as those are more "basic" - just chicken, beef, cheese, potato and some of the more specialty empanadas are truly delicious. In particular I liked the bombay, greek spinach pie, and spicy chicken. While the 10 empanadas just came in a paper bag, each was individually wrapped with a stamp on the bag as to which flavor it was.“

“The Colombian tamaleria is a beautiful corner of Colombia in the majesty of the Great Mazana, for those of us who are passing through it is a great place to evoke family moments, remember a breakfast at home or a weekend lunch. For those who have more time to visit, in this place you can find a games space with pinball machines and slot machines, on weekends they have live music and a large dance floor. The menu presents a tour of the typical dishes of our country, including a rib broth, three-phase sancocho, suckling pig, tamale, arepa with cheese, chicharrones, patacones, empanadas and much more, very rich flavors and fair prices for this city. The creativity is a challenge for your palate. The flavor explosion is the gastronomic reward of the journey. The service is fabulously Colombian, South American hospitality/friendliness, accommodating and extensively menu knowledgeable. The decor of this munch-spot is of a Colombian BBQ pit with an American flair. Tastefully designed to resemble a road side BBQ shack. Music keeps it bumpin' and is all about the Latin BBQ Vibe. Seating is limited, large groups of 10 or more will be difficult to accommodate. No outdoor seating is available due to heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Worth the ride to munch with friends, family or a casual date. WASH YOUR HANDS BECAUSE YOU WILL BE LICKING YOUR FINGERS. Yummy Tummy!“

“I first ate here in 2012 with about 20 Colombian adoptees and have been back so many times despite not living in Queens. I thought it had a different name, but I recognize the decor. This place was amazing and we went around lunch time. Many of us have friends and family in Colombia and we loved this place so much. I remember going there with a friend and not really knowing for sure how to get there one time as we took the subway, but I was still able to locate it. During that weekend we also went to an overpriced place, attempting to be "upscale" and it was no where in the same category as this restaurant. They other place even ripped us on the bill because there were some many of us and they claimed we "must have bought alcoholic drinks". They ripped us off and a girl had to put it on her credit card to get the reservation and now the bill was about $300 to $375 more and we all knew what we ordered food wise and nobody drank I'm excess so we just all chipped in to cover this rip of. If that's not bad enough they had our event published in some magazine or newspaper. Don't waste your time with those places, go here and you will not be disappointed. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Ciao.“

“I have been dining at this wonderful family location for over 20 years that in my opinion should be considered a landmark. The service is unmatched, the Colombian food served here for lack of a better word is "Perfect" every single time I come here the food reminds me so much of my childhood with my own Colombian family. I highly recommend this location nestled in the middle of Jackson heights. So if u want good food, great service and affordability then this place is the spot to come to.Kid-friendliness: Highly family friendly.“
