“Incredible food and fun interior/ambiance, though cocktails were mediocre. Highlight of our visit to Portland and visited twice in 2 weeks. The food was unbelievably tasty — they really didn’t compromise on Texan barbecue quality with their Thai focus. The white curry with brisket burnt ends was one of the best dishes I’ve had all year. The massaman lamb curry was phenomenal too.The cocktails (Shoulda Woulda Coulda and Life of Luxury) were unfortunately overly sweet and candy-like. I would skip them and just get a cold Singha draft or their alcohol-based slushies instead. We received cold service on our first visit but super friendly and attentive service on the second. We walked in with no wait on a Monday at 4:30pm and waited 1h30 on Saturday evening at a great wine bar across the street.“

“One of my top 5 favorite place to eat in PDX. The sesame noodles are bright, fresh, and chewy. Served chilled and perfect for summer time. The pork is tender and perfectly seasoned.I have a difficult time finding food that's not too spicy (seems a current PDX trend). They balance it perfectly. I'd more or less given up on enjoying that mouth numbing delightfulness of the Sichuan peppercorn without being blasted with the heat of a million chilies. But they've found the sweet spot. Prices on par with other places in the area. Plus you can enjoy the food in their neighboring establishment, Holy Ghost.I highly recommend paring any noodle dish with the 5min Gin Fizz!“

“We stopped here on a short trip to Portland. We ordered the sliced brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage and coleslaw. The brisket was a showstopper. It was tender and really is what you dream brisket tastes like. The sausage was phenomenal and the coleslaw was just fine. The peach mustard BBQ sauce was a surprisingly wonderful addition to the meats. I would buy it by the jarful if I could!“

“Just had the half pound pastrami brisket sandwich available as the Thursday special. Absolutely amazing. Very generous half pound. As tender, juicy and delicious brisket as I have had. I will be making the trip here often and maybe not just on Thursdays.“

“A food truck with mighty flavors in their tacos! This was featured in netflix so it was a must stop to check out during our portland trip. It's located in Hinterland Bar& food Carts. The truck is at the end of the row, near their version of indoor/outdoor seating..The covered outdoor seating has heat lamps. The dining areaWas nice and cozy during the day. The seating area have a fair amount of seating, self-serve water, and a modest shelter from the wind and rain..I ordered the chopped brisket tacos which consist of brisket and guacamole. The brisket was the epitome of juicy. The tortilla were soft and warm. The brisket flavors together was savory delicious. It's safe to say my tastebuds were seredipity! The size of the tacos are surprisingly deceiving as they leave you feeling a healthy full..I also got the smoked turkey taco with guacamole and it was pleasing to the presentation. The turkey taco had good chunks of white turkey meat. The taco was refreshing too. I wouldn't have thought about smoked turkey tacos as my second choice but it was great to experience something different. It's great being adventurous sStreet parking since it's near a residential area. The server whohanded me my food was nice. The ordering process was a breeze as you order on atablet located at the front of the truck and they text you when your order is ready. Matt'sBBQ Tacos is a revisit when I am craving a snack at the food trucks and l'm looking forward to trying out other creations. Hope this review is helpful and thanks for reading. Have a yelptastic day.“

“Best BBQ in Portland. Of course this is unofficial, but confirmed through various sources. I had the pulled pork bowl over cheesy grits. It was beautiful, delightfully delicious and substantial! Covered tables with heat lamps for seating. Street parking easily available. Small free library available if you want to come by yourself and read, but definitely a community gathering place - great place to meet neighbors that chat with each other around the beer spot cart next door. Definitely recommend and will be back!“

“Excellent fried shrimp sandwich. Big pieces of shrimp and hand breaded and fried to perfection. I’m from the south where the fried shrimp sandwiches taste fresh like this, so I was impressed. The cooking of the fried potatoes was also excellent. Perfect crisp while soft on the inside. The aioli seems to be made from scratch. Even if it’s not, the flavor is just right. Honestly so impressed with this place. Bar food cooked with fine dining restaurant chef quality.“
“Brian and the crew at MDBBQ delivered outstanding food for our daughter's wedding, in a blizzard in the gorge! Everyone raved about the food, and we had enough leftovers to help feed our guests who got stuck at the hotel for 2 days! Hire them! You won't regret it! We had the smoked chicken, pulled pork, beans, green salad, mac n' cheese, and deviled eggs for 110 guests. PHENOMENAL!!“

“We had the Boston waffle with PB&J, bananas, and whipped cream. It was delicious and the perfect size as a dessert for two people. Fluffy and light, and just filling enough. The covered portion of the patio was cozy on a rainy winter's day, while still giving a fun food cart vibe. Highly recommend.“

“This place was amazing! Not only was the food bomb but the customer service was top tier. We were visiting from out of town and got there early. They let us come in 15 min before opening so we could get out the rain and cold. I’ll definitely be back when in Oregon again.“

“Great bbq, & they have sandwiches & tacos too which is nice cause sometimes I want some bbq but not just the plain meat. The tacos are my favorite - I tried the pork butt and burnt ends I believe. The pork butt was like pulled pork and not very flavorful but tasted great w/ their habanero sauce. The burnt ends were great. They also have a layer of fried cheese between the tortilla and the filling which adds a new cheesy flavor & crunch and also keeps from getting too soggy. The sandwich was tasty as well & also had their signature fried cheese layer. I tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch - the bacon was a hearty thick slice nicely smoked and the chicken was kinda chicken salad style, very good but I preferred the tacos. I got a side of the Mac n cheese which was nice and creamy w/ a bit of spice. Very filling.“

“Mighty Moe's Tanker is such a beautiful little spot! It's a little small, but even when I have seen it packed out, it wasn't uncomfortable at all! People are respectful, bartenders are darling, and the owner Moe is such a gem! It is all family vibe! I started regularly going when I was going through a super hard time and they were my safe space and comforting support! ?“

“What a great little food cart pod! Lots of variety - you can basically find whatever food tickles your fancy. Lots of seating, outdoors and indoors. Arcade and play areas for kids of different ages. I had the BBQ truck, which was just meh, my friend had the rotisserie chicken place and got chicken and waffles that she really enjoyed. Will definitely return and try something new. I went in a Friday and there was a live band, that was actually really good - very enjoyable Friday evening. Good place to hang for a while and satisfy everyone's cravings.“

“I'm so glad my husband and I stumbled upon this mom and pop restaurant. I was craving for wonton soup and saw this place on the way home and decided to try and have early dinner here. The place is small with few tables but it's very clean and a nice friendly staff greet us by the door. We ordered wonton and dumpling soup, pork BBQ steam bun, pork roast and pork BBQ combination rice plate, roast duck and beef brisket combination dry noodles. The food reminded me of my father's cooking, since he passed away I've been missing him so much and these food just reminds me of him. The food we ordered tasted like a home cooked meal. My father was a great cook and his love language was cooking for his family and the food here reminds me of him, like a warm hug. Thank you for this experience, the food here not only feed my hunger but also feed my heart. I will definitely return here. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for an authentic Chinese BBQ and noodle place.“

“I've heard a lot about Landmark. It's the type of place your boyfriend's Dad calls you about when he sees that his sons's shared location is there. You know, because one time he went there, or maybe it reminds him of something... or, maybe this place is about connection. Maybe that's why I've heard about it... or maybe it's the drinks? I don't know...But, what if it is about connection? About talking to the person you came with, thinking about picking up that phone call when you'd usually hit ignore on a Saturday night, or maybe just remembering a moment when you were absolutely happy to hear a live band play something you've never heard on the radio...You know, the radio... that thing people always listened to on their commute to somewhere...“

“100% legit. I used to be a regular before moving out of Portland. Now I need to swing by every time I visit. The BBQ plates are superb, but the real action is on the sandwich menu where the good reverend burger and the fried chicken sando are among my favorite things to eat of all time. The tap list is short but well curated, there are cider, wine and liquor options if that is your game and usually 2 frozen cocktails spinning. Staff stick around for a long time and are polite, knowledgeable and attentive as well as friendly.“

“We ordered the chicken fried chicken, spare ribs, collards, mashed potatoes and gravy, friend green tomatoes and cornbread. The highs: collards, ribs and chicken. The collard greens were so tender, and while I found myself wanting some bacon in them, they were so good that I didn’t care. The ribs were tender but not mush. The breading on the chicken was crispy and flavorful. The lows:mashers, fried green tomatoesThe mashed potatoes were smothered with gravy but it didn’t hide the weak flavor and seasoning. I personally didn’t like the breading on the tomatoes. It seemed to be a corn breading. It was dense and a little over hard. However, they had good flavor.Being from Florida I’d had a hard time finding southern food that tastes right to me. This has been the closest by far.And they have boiled peanuts!“

“The eggplant melted in my mouth. I recommend the scallops, oysters, scallions, chicken hearts and cauliflower. I will have to go back to try it all. The flavors were fantastic! Friends live in the neighborhood and they say they have been going once a week.“

“I have ordered take out and delivery from here. I've had good experiences both ways. For take out, they greeted me immediately, took my order, had me pay, then told me how long it would take. I didn't have to wave them down and I felt like they treated me well. The food was prepared surprisingly fast. I was even more surprised by the large portions for the price that I paid. For delivery (via Grubhub), some items aren't available (such as the pepper and onion prawns), but similarly the food was prepared fast with large portions and delivered in a timely manner. So far, I've had their BBQ pork, roasted pork, duck, salt and pepper prawns, fried rice, congee, Big Game A and Big Game B, and wonton soup - all tasted great, not overly salty nor bland, and a great price for large portions. Overall, great experiences!“

“We had J&L cater our 130 person wedding with two choices of Meats and 3 sides. The whole process with them went so smoothly, they delivered our food timely and we received TONS of great reviews on the food. Their catfish was AMAZING and the corn bread and green beans with bacon were a hit. If I ever had to do another large event they will be number one choice. thank you guys so much for taking our wedding to the next level! Taylor and James Roberts“

“They have a great All you can eat. $34.99 my daughter is a pescatarian she can’t eat the meat. So they can cook Seafood Bibimbob for her. I was really appreciative of staffs and chefs. Meat,BBQ,veggies and side dishes are amazing. But they don’t have many kid’s menu and waiting lists are so long specially weekends are crazy busy. We were there 6:15pm but we sat a table 7:20 we waited for over hour and they didn’t accept the reservations. My son loves Korean foods and Korean BBQ so why we were there. Staffs are kind and generous but waiting time is killing me ?and parking lots aren’t big enough.“

“I wish we didn’t have to use QR codes to order. I’m trying to get off my phone and one of the main things I do is don’t have it during meal times so I had to go back to my car for my phone just so I could see a menu and order. The food was delicious, the Mac and cheese leaves something to be desired, it’s very bland but the meat is really really good and so is the chili.“

“It's now our second time here because the food is so good here. Their seafood pancake is amazing, crispy and loaded with seafood. Their full size galbi comes with a lot of protein. My husband loves the rice cake and mando soup here, the broth is so comforting. Their banchan also changes so this time we got some hotdog. The potato banchan is soo good too. Can't wait to come back.“
“Moved here in 2009, been coming here since then and I haven't grown tired of this place yet. When nothing else sounds good this place always does the trick! Especially Love the chicken with sweet chili sauce and the tri-tip with teriyaki sauce.“
“Amazing catering experience. Super great Hawaiian cuisine and the delivery & set up(customer service) was exceptional. BTW, the sauces are super good! If your looking to host a party, don’t miss out on what the Local Grind has to offer.“

“Nice lunch of Fish and Chips. Food was quick and hot, waitress was nice. BUT - most importantly, there were no homeless parked in the street or hanging out in the parking lot. This is the first time I went back in over a year due to the Homeless on Hayden Island.“
“Secret gem of old turned new SE Portland. The Tanker turned Mighty Moes Tanker! If you want a spot where you can dance without judgment, have an amazing snack...(sometimes the most baller secret jambalaya) BBQ season permitting and the best owner who works his ass off everyday to be a contributor to the community, then this is your spot!“
“Came here as group of us were doing a art walk on Alberta street, was craving for some meaty food, stopped by this spot where there were few other food trucks, mind you Portland is known for food trucks as I discovered, we ordered bbq ribs that came with the potato salad And greens and , chicken wings. Mind you, I have never seen my fiancé finishing potato salad when we've ordered in the past from other place, which he did so there must be something good about this place , he liked the collard greens, meat was cooked well, I just thought it was little too much bbq sauce, meat kinda somewhat seemed like they were swimming in the sauce as I don't really like having that much sauce on the meat but however I liked the meat itself. We were definitely full and satisfied after. I would go back again.“

“Love it. I get the V1 or pho at least a couple times a month. Tempura ? shrimp perfectly fried. Light, crispy, not greasy. This family-run restaurant is the best place to dine East of 82nd on Sandy. Clean, pretty, beautifully decorated. Order online food ready within 15 minutes. Great service and welcoming, unlike many other Vietnamese restaurants around town.“
