“Delicious food every time we dine in, and fresh margaritas too. Supporting a queer-owned vegan business makes every bite and sip that much better. I would highly recommend their torta with any of their "meat". Music is a little loud, and it's a small environment. Besides that, the vibes are impeccable. We try to make it in every weekend.“

“Kate's plant-based ice cream is exceptionally delicious. A lot of the stir-ins are made in-house, too, which adds to the delight of the treat! The venue is small (not much room to stick around, especially with long queues), but cute. One of the only downsides is the price: expect to pay $6+ for a single scoop. It's still well worth a try, regardless!“

“I went to this place for me and my partners anniversary. I have never been and neither had he. The experience was top notch! I came in and the waiter said he was going to change my life and he did just that. I also had a gift card that had a generous balance and I was so impressed with the service and food that I was embarrassed to use it so I paid out of my own pocket. Best tapas in Portland hands down! My partner usually is the one who picks places because I’m bad at it and he was also incredibly impressed with me and my choice to try Urdaneta!“

“I've heard so much about this ice cream, so I'm glad I finally got to try it.I really appreciate that they let you do half scoops so I could try more flavors. My husband and I split a double scoop waffle cone with:- Passionfruit Yuzu Mochi Donuts & Whey Curd- Pear & Blue Cheese- Arbequina Olive Oil- Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black PepperFirst off, this is the only place I have been with waffle cones as good as Jeni's, which was a pleasant surprise.Weird flavors are right up my alley, so I was in heaven. The strawberry balsamic was hands down my favorite because the flavor was so intense. The passion fruit one would be my second choice.I would happily come back, but there are many other places I want to try while we're in Portland too. Too much ice cream to try is quite the problem to have.“

“Had another wonderful breakfast here! Had Gabriel again for a server this trip. He’s just friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! Love it here. I had the Denver omelet this time- a staple breakfast for me. They use real ham steak and red pepper. It’s so good. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area!“

“Honestly was the best steak house I’ve been to… I liked how the waiter explained the whole process to the table, gave great recommendations & the chef gave us a free soup sample. All the food was 5/5 stars. Best steak & pork chop hands down.“

“I have lived in Morocco and been traveling there since the 1970s. my lunch yesterday at Kasbah Moroccan Cafe was undoubtedly the best Moroccan food I have eaten in the US. The food was delicious and authentic. Portions were generous. While we had to eat outside due to Covid, we could see that the inside of the cafe was attractively done in Moroccan style. The owner was very friendly. My son-in-law is Moroccan and he loved the food as well. I unreservedly recommend this place and will make a point of eating there next time I visit Portland.“

“I love this place thru & thru! If you haven't been, do yourself a favor. So chilled, with a poetic and tepid groovy vibe, this spot is hotter than lukewarm. All the puns not intended actually. It's just a well designed little place to enjoy attendant service, tiny or not so tiny dishes of luxury, and a balanced ambiance erring on the side of elegance. Come. You won't regret it.“

“Honestly some of the best pizza I have ever had. I really like the thick Detroit style with the slightly crunchy cheese at the edges. And the sauce was great as well. I had the cheese burger pizza, and it had just the right amount of heat.“

“Overall good food, excellent presentation and atmosphere. The bananas foster french toast was definitely a bit of a let down. It looked fantastic but it was more like "french bread" than french toast. there was no crispiness in any of the edges and was so thick cut it was just like eating a loaf of bread covered in syrup. I also got the lavender spritzer (tasted like lemonade, and only lemonade). Deep fried okra was pretty good. I've never had okra before, so I can't really compare it, but the cornmeal batter was great and it wasnt separating from the vegetable at all. the crispy little pieces were the best. Sawmill breakfast was pretty small for twelve dollars, and we found the sausage gravy a little lacking. it was very rich, and i suppose this could be due to personal preference but neither of us could get behind a sausage gravy without pepper. We also got the orange creamsicle, and there's no complaints here. delicious and creamy. We sat on the patio, which was lovely, and our server was awesome.“

“Blew me away! I love this food cart pod already but I wanted to try something new and I will be back! My partner got a burrito and I got the taco plate with carnitas and portobello. Incredible! Love the colorful plates too and the salsas were spicy but not too spicy. Perfect amount of kick.“

“I love this restaurant. We live on the same block so we come pretty often. The people who own this place are the nicest people you'll ever meet. The food is unique, gorgeous, and delicious. One of my favorites is the Al-Hawr Salad. It is dressed with pomegranate molasses olive oil and garnished with these crispy comet-shaped croutons. Honestly I'm not sure what they're called but it's like a satchel filled with a bit of sumac onions and fried. The wrapper is shatteringly crisp and we like to dunk all the crispy pieces into hummus. By the way the hummus here is like silk, just so extremely tasty. We get it every single time. Our other family favorite is the filet mignon main dish. They really know their meats here and the steak tastes fantastic with a bit of char from the grill. My go-to cocktail here is the mule. It has vodka, rose water and ginger beer. Simply refreshing. There's assorted beers and wine available too. And a cute bar inside the restaurant. The owner told us tonight he's recently opened the restaurant for lunch. Starting at 11am. There will be lunch sized portions with limited selection of the main menu. Don't sleep on this place, it's a hit every time.“

“Absolute best place for vegan food in Portland. My I live 55 mi away from this restaurant but when the urge hits for dirty lettuce, there is no substitute. From ribs to wings to fruit pies, putting together your meal from their menu is a task in itself. I cannot recommend enough the cornbread which blows away anything you can find from any other restaurant on the I-5 corridor. I am happy to have you prove me wrong, but I don't think it can be done.Kid-friendliness: Laid back atmosphere with outdoor eating available. Small indoors but nice for a quick stop for a bite.“

“Found this spot via Instagram and it lives up to the hype. Tons of unique rolls to choose from as well as plenty of non-sushi appetizers and entreés like Udon. The sashimi and tamari (nigiri) was very fresh and delicious. We will definitely come back to try the set courses. Sake list is small but there are options for everyone, ranging from dry to sweet, and they have a good selection of Japanese wiskeys. Our server, Becca, was kind and very helpful for our first time experience. (pictured) bluefin akami, bluefin otoro, and hamachi tamari, Blazer and Salmon Twist rolls.“

“3.5 Stars Visited Guero on Cinco De Mayo while visiting my daughter in Portland. We chose this place since they were at the top of the Yelp rankings for 'Mexican restaurants near me' and they were open to 10 pm. We started with a 24 oz. Modelo $8 and a Mint Grapefruit soda. Ordered some chips and salsa $5 and they were above average for C&S, but not too spicy. I ordered the Carnita Torta $14. It was very tasty and loaded with veg. My daughter ordered the Masa Y Papa Torta $14. I didn't try it, but she said it was very delicious. The tortas were pretty large and after the beer and chips and salsa, we had to take half of our tortas to go. Ate them on the airplane ride home. I also ordered a side of Frijoles Negro $5 thinking it was $1 as per the menu. All in all, I enjoyed this place. I was lured by the Pozole that I saw on Yelp menus, but found out it was seasonal. Not sure why, but it was. Service was awesome. It's a little dark in the restaurant, so you may need a flashlight to read the menu. The neighborhood has a good vibe. We found street parking pretty easily. Thumbs up for Guero.“

“UPDATED REVIEW: I had previously had a poor experience but the second visit completely changed my mind. I'm really happy I gave it a second shot. TLDR: Le Pigeon went from 2 stars to 5 stars after our second experience there because it really is a phenomenal spot to dine for special occasions or anyone looking for an excellent tasting menu. Andy (co-owner) reached out to me pretty quickly after seeing my review and hadn't seen the private review I had given due to their switch from Resy to OpenTable. The email really put me at ease because Andy was very understanding and didn't make excuses for any of the reasons I gave regarding our poor experience. He is a first class owner. Every interaction via email as well as in person was pleasant and professional. Andy even made sure to introduce himself to myself and my husband the second time we came in. Every dish was cooked to perfection this time. We opted for the chef's counter which I HIGHLY recommend, especially if you likes asking questions about the meals and preparations. The chefs were very knowledge, down-to-earth, super friendly and willing to share enthusiastically. My favorite dish was the sea scallop with macadamia nut, mezcal and strawberry (to die for, melts in your mouth) and the opening dish which was a savory rice crispy with onion jam, unagi, and shaved truffle - divine! The dessert was also so delicious and refreshing. The halibut dish was another winner, poached to perfection in olive oil, tasted like spring. Every staff member this time was friendly, I never had my water lower than half way (which I really appreciate because I'm always thirsty lol), the atmosphere was pleasant and the playlist was great while not being too loud. Huge thanks to Andy and Molly for the wonderful experience and being open to any feedback given. I am truly thankful for the second shot and very happy we were able to experience Le Pigeon in the right way.“

“As a 1st time guest, this restaurant is fantastic. Smooth and friendly seating after arrival. Ambience and music levels were ideal. Surrounding diners all seemed content and everyone enjoying themselves. There was a calm sense of urgency and efficiency by the staff which shows good management is present. The food was perfect, well balanced, great selection of greens, proteins and sides. Flavours were all great matches for each dish. The venue is well kept and clean, this to me shows great care is taken in the presentation and look of the space. Well done to the team. With all the positive, there is always one issue that is showing up on checks . The staff wellness charge on the check. This passive guilt charge is not a concern of diners. This is an ownership responsibility. My recommendation is to add $1 to all your top 5 dishes to cover this expense. Staff deserve all the support possible especially in hospitality as it's long hard hours. Just don't add it to the guest check. It's weird and also skews the tip calculations on the check total. Find another way . See you soon“

“Incredible. I’ve never felt such a profound emotional reaction to something as simply advertised as pizza. It was an out of body experience and I’m assuming it’s this way because it’s somebody’s life work. It’s the only explanation I have. If that’s the case then it’s somehow elaborately deceptive in its facade of simple ingredients because it’s completely engineered to make you feel something so profound it catches you off guard in a world full of distractions.“

“I took my wife here on our first date a long time ago. We wanted a place that had a good vibe and where we could catch up with old friends. While we waited for our table to be set, we had a chance to meet the owner. He was interesting and funny. He really cares about this place and customers. The food was delicious, service great, and the bartender is top notch. We were a group of 4 and we all had the Ziti with Vodka sauce and sausage. A great evening. I'll be back.“

“Our friends that have dined all over the world say this is one of their favorite restaurants in town. My friend and I went and thought it was good but not mind-blowing. The service was good, the atmosphere very lively and fun (kind of on a hip bar side of things). For the equivalent quality and price and portions, I prefer many other place in town. Also, I think another reviewer mentioned they left hungry? To be fair, we only ordered four plates and 2-3 were recommended per person at minimum, meat free. However...I too left hungry and just didn't want to surpass the $45 (with tip) I already spent on my food plus $20 for drink.“

“For the dine-in experience it is worth 5 stars but ordering to-go is not as easy. They won't be finished on time - possibly a 40 minute wait longer than what Google tells you on a Wednesday evening so workers can be overwhelmed and will put online orders last on priority.“

“Lovely venue, amazing food. Every single bite was unique. I typically approach food as fuel, but the same ingredients prepared by masterful hands and palates on a warm Portland evening are downright ethereal. Unparalleled. Go for the fixed course meal and wine pairings, and let them make the decisions. Dealbreaker: The focaccia and butter plate is like none I’ve experienced before. Best plate ever. Seriously. If you haven’t had butter or cheese with honey and fennel, it’s a must.“

“What an awesome meal on the way out of Portland near i5. I was a bit worried when looking at the neighborhood initially coming from the IKEA direction but the food was great, service friendly and warm, and the decorations inside was pretty cool and felt like a bit of Peru. “What a gem! We don't eat vegan exclusively but have egg and dairy allergies so getting burgers with cheese and ranch and shakes was awesome! The buddy stix (mozzarella) were not bad but the Paddy's Melt and Newport Nightmare were both great and the Smashed to pieces shake was so good we came back another time just for more shakes! This place is located inside Swan Dive and did not have a sign outside (as they moved recently to the kitchen inside).“

“I love Japanese sandos and was so happy to find this spot when visiting Portland. My husband and I shared:- Miso Katsu Sando with Pork- Naka Sando- Tokyo Curry Pan SandoI don't think you can go wrong with anything you get here. The Miso Katsu Sando was my favorite. I loved the sauce and all of the flavors. The curry sando was super unique. I enjoyed the first few bites the most, but then it got a bit too heavy for me with the fried bread. I would ideally want to share this with 4 people. The cart consistently has a line. We waited about 40 minutes for ordering + receiving our food. You can order in advance too, but they weren't sold out of any sandos when we got there around noon on a weekend. There is a lot of covered outdoor seating and heaters when it's cold. “Incredible food and fun interior/ambiance, though cocktails were mediocre. Highlight of our visit to Portland and visited twice in 2 weeks. The food was unbelievably tasty — they really didn’t compromise on Texan barbecue quality with their Thai focus. The white curry with brisket burnt ends was one of the best dishes I’ve had all year. The massaman lamb curry was phenomenal too.The cocktails (Shoulda Woulda Coulda and Life of Luxury) were unfortunately overly sweet and candy-like. I would skip them and just get a cold Singha draft or their alcohol-based slushies instead. We received cold service on our first visit but super friendly and attentive service on the second. We walked in with no wait on a Monday at 4:30pm and waited 1h30 on Saturday evening at a great wine bar across the street.“

“Delicious ice cream (although I wish there were more gluten free options!). The single split scoop is kind of big (which most would think is a good thing I'm sure!). I might rather pay for an actual normal scoop size (split flavor) and pay a little less for a smaller portion (I know that seems crazy to say but sometimes I just want an actual single scoop!).“

“Heard about this place from friends who used to live in Portland, so we made the quick drive to see these mini donuts for ourselves. Had a great expereince. It's always busy, so just go in & wait to find a seat. We wanted to try everything donut-wise, so we did the dozen, and did two in each flavor. A dozen of these equates to about a half dozen in normal size donuts. The flavors had some interesting profiles, but they meshed well. We also got the Chai Flight since it was priced so well. Half of them were good, the other couple weren't our speed. Be courteous and don't linger too long after you've finished, so others can get a seat. I'd recommend everyone to try, as it's a neighborhood gem.“

“It was truly an amazing experience. Everything was delicious. The staff was awesome. Everyone was friendly. Every dish was better than the last. The twice cooked pork, amazing. The PLAINTAIN BRIOCHE BUNS, delicious and full of flavor. Wish we'd had two servings. The peanut, creamed greens are full of subtle flavor that builds and builds. The smoked ribs ranked among the best grilled beef I've ever had. The BLANCMANGE, with coconut custard, might be the best thing we had. It's a rare experience where we talked about what we want to try next time as we were driving home. Both of us are looking forward to going back again! Oh, and their drinks are amazing as well. Their Hearthfire was filled with flavor and heat! Delicious!“
