A rather expensive ( as compared to to several dinners had in banff previous evenings ) though the reviews promised an interesting menu both meals ( which were from the $49 3 course menu ) were average at best ... highly overpriced for the food quality ... would not suggest this restaurant to anyone when there are several more compelling offerings literally across the street ...
We dined here on a Monday evening during our week long ski trip to Banff. We started with sides rather than appetizers. The focaccia is a must-order, and we loved the carrots and brussels sprouts, too. My partner ordered the harissa honey chicken and the sauce was perfectly balanced. The duck salad was not as good with the "crispy duck" being more hard and chewy. We skipped dessert, because nothing caught our attention. We'd come back next time we are in Banff.
The service was great and fast, which was the best part of the dining experience. Loved the ambience of the restaurant. Food was average, presentation was great but tasted just okay. We had the pork belly and bison kofta for appetizers. We also had the mushroom tagliatelle and ginger beef for mains. Tagliatelle was under seasoned, very bland while the Ginger beef was a bit soggy. We loved the pickles garnish and pepper though.
The ginger beef was excellent! Thank you to our server, Amy, and for the recommendation to check out Brazen from Molly (server from Magpie and stump) appreciate you all!
Offered a crappy table instead of available window seat. Ordered drinks which sat at the bar for 15 minutes while the waitress chatted with other staff. Our food arrived at the same time as our drinks. Food was so so. Pasta was not very tasty. Burger was greasy and fell apart. This used to be a great place. Not anymore.
Good food overall. The chicken pie was average. Place was busy, a bit understaffed. We would recommend this restaurant and visit again earlier to avoid the crowds
In my over 15 years in the hospitality industry, I have never met a more unwelcoming staff member than the manager of this restaurant. As guests of the hotel, we tried to sit upstairs to hold a brief Zoom call and since the restaurant manager parked his laptop in the only corner with an electrical outlet we attempted to move a small table to use the only remaining outlet. In the middle of our call the manager came over, scolded us for moving the table, and proceeded to walk back over to his table where he finished his steak, beer, and vape as we packed up. I would HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere (anywhere) in Banff to eat. As you walk in, you'll see the restaurant is nearly empty and you'll soon see why. To the owners, as someone that manages costs for hospitality outlets, I'd recommend you do a deep dive in your employee meals expense and Cost-of-Goods-Sold with your staff eating steaks and drinking beer while on the clock. I look forward to when the ownership changes their management here.

I have only been to Brazen a handful of times, but more than once Amy has been my server. Her bubbly and friendly personality always makes me feel so welcome. Amy is very attentive and engaging with her guests. She is incredibly knowledgeable, and will happily explain everything on the menu to you, if you were to ask. Speaking of the menu, during our most recent visit, our small group selected a a few plates to share amongst us (Royal with cheese, Pork and beans, polenta, rosti) and it was all amazing. We were very happy with the food! Overall, great food, great server, great experience. Thank you!

Had such a wonderful experience at the brazen. We both shared an appetizer, as well as our own means +2 enhancements. And I will say it was absolutely delicious. Will recommend this to everyone, pricing for the quality and quantity is amazing. Our server Amy was awesome, she went above and beyond to make us feel very comfortable and welcome. Will definitely be coming back ASAP

Food was decent and interesting but the service was not to par. The whole mean took 2.5 hours. We had ask them about every single dish that showed up. Just alot of nothing being done. Only like 8 tables but 3 wait staff. Food was not even that hot.

Went here over the weekend, the place is cute and in the amount Royal Hotel. Our server was attentive and extremely nice! The avocado toast was huge and extremely good!
We had a delicious meal at Brazen including roasted chicken, potatoes, and carrots. The food was delicious, the service was great and overall it was a really good experience. I would recommend a visit if you are ever in Banff.
Great Menu. Very creative. We enjoyed the new presentation on the fish and chips. All the food we ordered was yummy. Friendly knowledgeable servers. Nice atmosphere. Definitely will be back.
I can't speak highly enough about our experience. My 10 year old son has anaphylactic allergies so we eat in restaurants 3-4 times a year. Brazen staff and head chef were incredible and ensured the food was safe and that my son loved it.
