Nice place. Prime rib and lobster were not available, as they ran out. Reservation was at 7:00! And the place was not busy. Service was average. We had to wait on things. Food was good. Not great.
We sat outside on patio of the Keg Steakhouse. Great server, Josh. My daughter ordered the prime rib, medium rare, and they later told us they were out of PR(their specialty) unless she ordered it medium well done. We both ended up with New York strips ordered medium, but they came out closer to well done. Had a mixed green salad, garlic mashed potatoes and a good bottle of wine without complaints. Overall, was good but not great. Reasonable value for Banff. Convenient location...
We didn't eat at The Keg. We went there for their happy hour and enjoyed sitting near a door leading to the patio, which was open, allowing lots of cool fresh air to come in as we had a glass of draft beer and a Negroni. The hour we spent there was very pleasant, made more pleasant by the friendly Scottish and Czech servers who took our drinks order and stopped by the table several times to chat.
