Not the quality of food or presentation or atmosphere that I’ve come to expect from the Keg from around the country. Food and drinks were mediocre.

Jimmy the server was polite at the beginning of us being seated down but later became super rude and unprofessional as a waitress. I ordered my steak 3 times because the first steak was well done while I asked for a medium rare, the second time was undercooked. The third time was medium. It was not the servers fault which I understood but to have to ask for compensation was unprofessional already. To only get $7 off my bill was even more unprofessional to me as the Keg is a serious steakhouse. Then later confronted my table about tips which blew me off and got me heated after. Reading the previous google reviews, this is not Jimmy’s first rodeo. Multiple people have made complaints towards Jimmy and have had the same experience as I did.

Our server, Jimmy. Was super nice in the beginning, but then came our food and one of my friends had his steak cooked wrong 3 times. The third time wasn’t even worth sending back at that point, we were running late for going back to our town. My boyfriend didn’t enjoy his food, nor none of us enjoyed the service near the end because it was noticeable our server was not having a great time serving us. We reassured him multiple times that it wasn’t his fault for the steak being cooked wrong, we ended up not tipping because none of us were having a good time at all at that point, expecting a compensation for the steak because it couldn’t even be enjoyed at that point, no compensation in sight, after asking management we had a 7$ compensation for a 63$ steak. Our server then came up to us then confronted only ONE of us for not tipping, and made me feel very uncomfortable and guilty peer pressuring me to tip, I slide him a tip on the table but I was not very happy with how that situation was dealt and it was very unprofessional to confront a customer about it knowing our experience was bad. The guy in the front, of some Asian descent doing hosting, listened to our complaint, and was very professional, I’d like to thank him. Otherwise Jimmy needs a better attitude about tips.

One of the best steaks we’ve had in a long time! Both the baseball sirloin and rib eye were cooked to perfection! Garlic shrimp appetizer size was disappointing being only 6 shrimp but they tasted sooo good!

It's extremely disappointing when a steak house doesn't know how to cook a steak. They took my steak and put it back on the grill after I had already taken a bite and realized they way under cooked it. I can't imagine that's too sanitary. They let people touch food and then put it back on the grill. Yuck .. Even after putting it back on the grill they bring it back to me still under cooked. Asking for my steak medium well and having blood poor all over my plate when I cut into it is not at all how I wanted my dinner to go. Get some cooks who know how to cook meat.

The service was slow and it was way too cold I understand u have to have on the ac but I mean it was freezing.

This is the Steakhouse I was hoping to find + The personnel were pleasant and helpful + The food was tops + The Atmosphere was terrific, we could actually carry on a conversation over dinner without having to scream across the table + I wish The Keg was located in our town.

Our experience was that The Keg was "ok", but nothing special. Service was not terrific (our waiter was covering most of the tables on the second floor), even to the point of having wine delivered to our table but no wine glasses. When glasses were delivered, they were hot from the dishwasher. Food was fine, but not exceptional. The restaurant decor was dated. Overall, we felt the experience was not as good as we expected it to be, given that The Keg was recommended by several people.

Great Keg location. Amazing service, friendly staff, and a properly done steak, couldn't have asked for more🙂

Sometimes, as a lonely wanderer hiking, you need to celebrate a trail properly. The Keg is the place to do that. Properly prepared meals (Garlic Shrimp, their bread) topped off with a wonderful steak and Keg Fries. If you want a reliable meal that checks all the boxes here and you're looking to leave happy, then this Keg might just be the place for you. Be aware that the washrooms here are in a sort of awkward place and the windows will not deliver that Banff sights but the ambiance and service is wonderful.
