Having ‘espresso bar’ in the name would tend to imply serious care and attention has been paid to bean selection, getting the grind dialed in, and extraction.After parting company with the expensive side of $6 for a 12 oz latte there was no such impression.It was bitter and otherwise flavourless. 3 sips to ensure the veracity of this opinion, subsequent to which the beverage in question was deposited in one of Banff’s convenient waste receptacles.Won’t comment on the music being a twitch loud and thumpy, but it was. So now I shall hitch my pants back up to my armpits and head off with dreams of well balanced lattes in my head.

My husband had the ham and cheese panini and 16oz cappuccino and I had the blueberry cruffin. Both were very tasty, it was great to have some genuine bakery goods. The staff were very pleasant and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. We were there in the early afternoon and it was pretty picked over so obviously this place is very popular.
I've been to this place twice and it wasn't good both times. The cashier was friendly but kept yawning and gave us the wrong pastries which we only realized at home. They didn't have coconut milk which they advertised on the menu. The lemon loaf cake was very dry on the outside. They can't slice sourdough loaves because they don't have a slicer. The place is not clean either. Will not be returning.

The plain croissant was AMAZING and gets this place 3 stars. Everything else was meh. Cronut wasn't great, bread could've had more flavor, apple strudel was bland, cinnamon roll lacked flavor and was too soft and mushy.
