“I've just come back to Canada after some years and noticed that Roc's had opened near where my parents lived and wanted to try it - really glad I did! Very delicious food and prompt service - the Halo-Halo was especially delicious! Will definitely be back next time we are in Calgary.“

“Not too bad. Been out of the country, so 1st visit in about 5 years. Thought the butter chicken looked different than before, wonder if they changed something with it. Flavours were good. Also had their Crispy Chicken but my wife said it wasn’t spicy enough. Samosa’s were passable but the dipping sauce they come with was very good.“

“Boiled fish with pickled cabbage & chili came in a bowl as wide as an adult and serves 4 easily. Lobster Fried rice was totally worth the visit if nothing else. Diced Chicken in chilies were crispy and spicy!
No paper menus so don't forget your phone. Only QR code menus.
On the pricey side but it is a seafood restaurant after all.“

“Food was delicious with huge portions. We got the chow mien and the sesame chicken. My chicken was so fresh and crispy, with the stick sauce, it’s exactly what you hope for when you get Chinese food. And the chow mien was so flavourful! We don’t make it to this part of Calgary often but will go out of our way to have a meal here again!“

“Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Uncle Ben! Three out of four of us were Celiacs. There were so many options for us! We had chicken wings, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour pork, ginger beef, chop suey, lemon chicken soo gai, jumbo pineapple prawns and chicken fried rice. Most importantly, we didn’t get sick from cross-contamination! We will definitely be back!“

“Ordered wor wonton and a Chichen chow mein.
The soup was pleasantly fulled with veggies. Wontons, shrimp etc lots of noodles so the value is superb. Just wish the broth had more flavour than a packet of water. Still really enjoyed it and hope the broth can improve, because the entire meal was unexpectedly loaded
Same would go for the chow mein chicken. Super filled with lots of protein, but the overall flavour may need some attention.
Great job overall“

“The food is exceptional, from the subs to the pho to the buffet items. No notes there, it is hot, tasty and fresh regardless of what you order.
The only downside is the service- it can be abrasive and bordering on rude, on one occasion. I understand they have long lines, but even compared to other spots with similar lines, their customer service is notably a bit hit or miss.
Overall, go earlier than 1145 or later than 1230 for shorter lines, but regardless the line moves pretty fast so within 30 mins you should be through!“
“Located in the +15 level. This place has a counter to order breakfast, sandwiches, pizza. They also have a buffet which my friend and I tried for lunch today. I tried a touch of everything. The ginger beef was outstanding, it was so ginger-y and the lemon chicken was very lemon-y. The dumplings and springs rolls were so good too! I am looking forward to going back and trying their Western food.
There is seating there as well.
Service was extremely friendly and kind. It's a must try for a quick and delicious lunch!“
“Cool small food shop downtown for Japanese meat and rice bowl with miso soup, udon soup, or gyoza. Friendly staff and the servings are great overall. I tried the bowls a couple of times and like how the meals are low in oil and salt. You have the option for either Medium or Large bowls, and prices are great for whatever size you choose. Definitely recommend for your lunch breaks if you're nearby here. Thanks!“
“I have been frequenting Dirt Belly since their beginnings and am a big fan of their food. Especially the Mexi-cali salad and their pumpkin loaf. Imagine my dismay when I rocked up today and there was no pumpkin loaf (horrors). The loaves have been replaced with two desserts that are made with corn syrup (HFCS).
As a restaurant that seems to promote itself as health conscious that's a poor choice of sweetener. Bring back the pumpkin loaf!“

“Chè bong is our go to spot for Vietnamese desserts and really love their variety! As someone who became obsessed with Chè after eating it in Vietnam, I was a bit disappointed with the Che options here’s until Chè bong opened!
At one point last year, I was obsessed and going every week 😩. There’s a lot of variety in the desserts so it’s hard to get bored!
Our go to orders are generally the durian Chè, fruity Chè, pomelo Chè and mango sago. But I’ve also had their tofu, coffee, coffee Chè. Pretty much have tried every single dessert option here lol and you can’t go wrong with anything!
First off they use REAL jack fruit (Not canned)! It’s one of my fav Asian fruits but it’s so hard to find in desserts here. It’s pretty labour intensive to peel fresh jackfruit not to mention it’s expensive!
Secondly their durian is really good - I always wish there was more in the durian Chè but it’s creamy and adds such great pungency to their dessert.
I became a fan of pomelo Chè when I ate it in Hanoi a few years ago but have never been able to find it anywhere / it’s also incredibly labour intensive to make - but they have it here on the weekends!! It’s difficult to explain the flavour and texture - but it chewy, sticky, and there’s no citrus notes from the pomelo as the rind is used. It’s cooked in a tapioca liquid so it makes it almost gooey, and I love the little bit of coconut cream on top. It’s one of my favourite desserts here.
Spot is tucked in Chinatown and there isn’t a ton of seating but we often get their desserts to go. They do have some small tables and chairs, but seating is limited.
The owner and staff are friendly and service is quick. Their prices generally $
range from $8-10 which I think it’s reasonable because they make a lot of things from scratch and they use more expensive fruits!
Would definitely recommend visiting Chè bong if you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese desserts!“
