Barcelona Tavern is a modern upscale pub located in downtown Calgary, known for its lively atmosphere and good vibes. The restaurant offers a limited menu with dishes like seafood paella, which features tender and savory flavors, and steak and shrimp paella cooked to perfection. The menu also includes appetizers such as calamari, although some reviews mention the serving size being smaller than expected and the price seeming a bit high. Visitors can enjoy a variety of drinks, including a crisp draft beer and bubbly rosé, which pair well with the food. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing good service despite occasional slowdowns, especially during busy times. The upstairs area is suitable for hosting functions, making it a good spot for business meetings. The patio is eagerly anticipated each season, where guests enjoy the outdoor setting, especially in summer. The new location is quiet but can be noisy during lunch, which is considered normal. Overall, many guests find the experience enjoyable, with some noting the food is good but not overly special. The atmosphere remains lively but not overbearing, with music adding to the overall vibe. Reservations are recommended as the place can get busy.
