Fuwa Fuwa Japanese Pancakes

Came in with my family this morning for breakfast. We got to the til and ordered and waited about 20 minutes for food. That was fine, however in that 20 minutes we did not get our drinks, in fact we got them 10 minutes after we finished eating because the staff forgot they existed.

They did not clean a single table in the nearly 45 minutes we were there, despite people coming and going.

My husband got the bacon Benedict and said it was really weird having such sweet pancakes with what should be a savoury dish.

I wish we had the option to tip after service because the service was terrible and we would have tipped accordingly. The one worker seemed to just stare at a wall for half the time we were there.

They keep cancelling my order on Uber eats and I don't know why 😠

Loved the pancakes! They were very warm and delicious on the inside. A bit too sweet for me but the drinks and the fruits also tasted amazing! 10/10

The pancakes were good, but I was really disappointed that the washroom was closed for customers. It’s frustrating, especially when dining in. A place that serves food should have a working washroom available. Hopefully, they fix this issue soon.

The workers looked really annoyed with me and my sister ordering. Like yall can have your chit chat after....yall weren't even busy.

The pancakes are delicious! A tad expensive for what you get.

Comparing this visit to the one to another location at University District.

Waiting time of 30 minutes, while we were the ONLY ones - the other folks came in like 15 minutes after we ordered, and they got their drinks BEFORE us. How come?

No explanation prior to the order that it would take such a long time - ESPECIALLY since we were the only ones.
Note - we waited for 15 minutes at University District.

Finally, the worker put forks on the actual table, and without knives, and when my wife went and tried to take it from the counter, which looked accessible for the visitors, the worker told in a quite rude tone that it’s for employees only.

Food was alright, but still not as good as at UD.
This is not an acceptable behaviour and service.
We will never come back to this location, unless proper apologies will be given.

We visited Fuwa Fuwa Pancake yesterday, excited to try the place after hearing so much about it. While the food itself was good, the overall experience left us very disappointed.

The staff seemed extremely disorganized, mixing up orders and causing unnecessary confusion. To make matters worse, the lady working there was incredibly rude. When I politely asked about the serving time, she began shouting at me, stating they could only make four pancakes at a time and couldn’t speed up the process.

This is not the kind of atmosphere you expect when going out for breakfast. A breakfast spot should make you feel relaxed and happy, not stressed and upset.

I do not recommend this place. There are many other fantastic breakfast spots in Calgary where you’ll find better service and a more enjoyable experience.

Food was great, however service was aweful, you need to add more people on the ground or kitchen when you’re servicing large number of people or when it’s weekend and there is a child with people. Our food got to us one by one with delayed and it got cold, lost our appetite and doesn’t look tasty. Give people better service.

My wife and I decided to give this place a try, but unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. The dish seemed poorly mixed, which affected the texture noticeably. On top of that, the service left much to be desired. Overall, there’s not much more I can say, except that it didn’t meet our expectations.

The atmosphere is lovely, and the pancakes are light and fluffy. The one thing I would note is that the pancakes are rather small and there are only a few toppings- for the price, the value isn’t as good as other options.

Stopped by Fuwa Fuwa and tried their caramel frappe, which was a delicious blend that really brought out the coffee flavor with a nice caramel touch. Probably not the best choice for a night drink, though, so I might go for their pancakes next time. My friend ordered them, and they looked amazing—definitely a tempting option! Looking forward to trying more of their menu soon.
