Madras Cafe is a South Indian restaurant that offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with quick and attentive service. The menu features a variety of dishes, including Mysore dosa, Madurai dosa, idli sambhar, Medhu Vada with Samber, Onion Masala Dosa, and Cauliflower-65. The restaurant is known for its unbeatable masala dosa, which customers say is better than anywhere else in the city and has a perfect crispy outside with a well-spiced, soft inside. The sambar has a nice balance of spice, taste, and texture, and the filter coffee is enjoyed by those who like their coffee strong. The non-veg thali and three variation uthappam remain popular choices. The restaurant has a good selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, with each dish holding its own in taste and quality. While the non-veg thali might seem overpriced for its quantity, the staff is friendly and attentive, making the experience enjoyable. The restaurant can get filled quickly, but there is plenty of open parking nearby. Some customers have noted that the rose water served in a small plastic glass may not be appreciated by everyone. The restaurant also has branches on 52 St NE and in Carrington NW Calgary.
