Pies Plus Cafe is a beloved local institution that has been delighting customers with its exceptional pies for years. Known for its flaky, homemade crusts and a wide variety of flavors, from the classic banana cream to the savory chicken pot pie, this cafe offers a satisfying experience for both sweet and savory cravings. The beef pot pie and apple pie have great flavors, though the beef was a bit tough and the apple pie crust was not quite cooked. The beef pot pie has only a top crust. Customers also enjoyed the steak and kidney pie, saskatoon pie, and pumpkin pie, finding them absolutely the best and bursting with flavor. The cafe is praised for its homemade soup, which is perfect and not salty at all. The coffee is fresh and amazing, adding to the overall experience. Pies Plus Cafe offers reasonable prices and a welcoming atmosphere, with lots of parking available. Sandwiches are wonderful, soups are excellent, and BLTs are excellent. Cappuccinos are also a favorite. This cute little spot is perfect for lunch meet-ups or dates, and is kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible, with a ramp for easy access. Whenever customers are in the south end of Calgary, they make an effort to stop at Pies Plus, enjoying a piece of pie and coffee as a quiet treat.
