From the greeting at the door, service at the table and quality of the food, we could not have asked for a better dining experience. My husband used to frequent this establishment when he lived in the area but had not been back for over three years. He was greeted and treated as an old friend. We stopped by The Lunch Box Diner and were absolutely blown away.
The goulash was delicious—it has a nice little spicy kick to it that makes it perfect.
We also ordered the roast beef sandwich, and it was easily the biggest roast beef sandwich I have ever seen. We actually asked them to split the meal in half for us, and even with half a portion each, we both left completely full.
Amazing food and massive portions. We will definitely be back!“

“One thing I’m a sucker for is a good homemade breakfast — the kind that isn’t greasy, but still has that classic local greasy-spoon feel. The Commodore Restaurant in Edmonton absolutely nails it.

For around $40, we had an omelet, two pieces of French toast, bacon, eggs, and — very important to this caffeine-loving girl — two coffees. 😂

Nothing fancy or pretentious here, and honestly, that’s part of the charm. It’s good, honest food with that cozy, small-town, neighbourhood feel that makes you want to linger a little longer.

If you’re looking for fancy brunch, this probably isn’t your place. If you’re looking for a solid homemade breakfast that feels like it came from someone’s kitchen instead of a corporate kitchen? This is it.
