My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary. We decided to try new things since Indian food isn't usually our first choice but we were happy with what we got. We ordered samosas and Aloo Tikki (without mint sauce) for appetizers and the Pan Seared Fish and Laal Maans for entrees. We even had enough to take home as leftovers. Everythinf was also priced reasonably. The waiter was great and very friendly. We would return!

This restaurant has seen better days. First, however, let me make this clear - the food itself was great and the service was impeccable. The room was fairly quiet, but our waiter (who was the only waiter on shift at the time) kept his eye on us the whole time and was there when he was needed without us calling him. Though spicy (the appetizer), the food was fresh, properly cooked, very good tasting. And the value ($$$) was fine - on the pricey side, but fine. But the room seriously needs a makeover. The paint is "faded", scuffed, and peeling. The trim is chipped and needs attention. The carpet (2 ft. squares - you know the type) has 10 to 15 years of food spillage ground into it - and it looks it. The washrooms (mine, anyway) is fine, but, again, it could use a "makeover". And I don't know what they're trying to do with the lighting - maybe it was an attempt to be "romantic ambient" some years ago, but now it's just "dull". My suggestion - make a plan. Close for a couple of weeks. Gut and rebuild the interior (and the exterior could do with some work, too). Then re-open with the same menu and staff (including the chef/cooks). Then Select Restaurant will be back among the great places.

Everything about Select was amazing. Food and wine were Fabulous, service outstanding. Abit pricey have to save for special occasions.

For the price everything was amazing Appetizers Salad and meal was yummy and we got the chocolate cake omg was so yummy ? definitely will be going again. Service was great too. Very friendly.

I'm the last person to complain. I'm not a picky eater at all, I love pretty much all food, even if the cooking is a bit off. I have to say Select was one of the worst food experiences I've ever had. The service and the room was amazing, great waiter and nice place. But the food was inedible. Food should be edible. Raw chicken in appetizer, a dump of beef that resembled cat food, and something that was supposedly fish? Then the steak. I used to manage a pub on whyte ave, and the steak we ordered was 10x better than what these guys are ordering. Worst cut of beef I've ever received. Not sure if they're trying to cut costs or what's going on here. Fingerling potatoes were freezer burnt and tasted like McCains. Veggies were obviously frozen and had no taste, definitely not even close to fresh. Dishes were all uninspired and basic. Very disappointing when the food is priced similar to places like Hardware Grill or Vons or places of that caliber.
