Tea House Cafe is a cozy, family-run Hong Kong-style tea house located just a block away from Whyte Avenue in Edmonton. The menu features many typical Hong Kong cafe items, such as sweet corn and pork on rice, congee, wonton noodle soup, breakfast, various types of chow mein/noodles, and baked bowl rice. One highlight is the lunch special, where customers can choose between Hong Kong-style coffee or tea to go with their meal. Some recent visitors enjoyed the food, noting good wok hei and generous portions, especially with dishes like satay beef stir fry with rice noodles and curry. Service has been friendly and prompt, and seating is suitable for small groups, though the small layout can feel a bit tight.
The cafe offers a warm, cozy atmosphere that reminds many of a traditional tea house. Customers can enjoy a decent HK milk tea and tea time special, with quick service, and drinks are often refilled without asking. The place is good for a light late lunch or a casual chat, with a nice setting for those craving Hong Kong-style cuisine. The space inside is small, and the layout may be tight, but overall it provides a pleasant experience. Visitors have appreciated the quick turnaround for food and drinks, although some have noted that service may vary. Overall, Tea House Cafe is a decent choice for those seeking Hong Kong-style dishes in Edmonton, with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The milk tea is so good, tastes just like they make in Hong Kong! The set lunches are an amazing value! Lots of good options for whatever Chinese food you're in the mood for! They offer healthy portions, reasonable prices, and their complimentary tea was delicious. Something about it was amazing. They loved their bbq rice plate, their beef broth, and their pork was also really good. They even loved the cold milk tea that came with the bear ice cube. A nice touch! Generous portions for the pricing, friendly staff, and the food was tasty. Drinks were good too! Parking is unfortunately quite limited, and the space is quite small, so it’s good for small groups!
