VILLAGE SOMALI RESTAURANT offers delicious food with generous portions and friendly service. Customers enjoyed meals like chicken, rice, salad, and lentil soup, noting the chicken is well seasoned and falls off the bone. Beef Samosa and Mandazi were freshly prepared, with the Samosa filled with generous amounts of spicy beef and the Mandazi not doughy. Somali tea was made to order and not overly sweet. The grilled lamb recommended by the owner is juicy and flavorful with a perfectly golden crust. Grilled chicken legs, rice, soups, salads, and plantains are also outstanding. However, some experiences varied: one order of Beef Stew was dry but tasted better after microwaving, while a grilled whole fish meal was deep fried with a fishy smell, and the samosa described as potatoes and peas filling contained beef. The Mandezi was deep fried chapati with a strange taste, and the fish had no seasoning or sauce. Despite this, many find the food authentic and the service exceptional, with affordable prices and welcoming staff. Overall, the restaurant provides an excellent meal for those seeking African cuisine.
