“I've visited this place twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, and overall, it's been a pleasant experience. During our Sunday lunch visit, we were promptly seated despite not having a reservation, although the food did take a bit longer to arrive. For dinner, on a busy Friday night, even with a reservation, we had to wait an additional 10 minutes, which was understandable given the crowd.I highly recommend trying the Midori Wave roll, the Shrimp Parade, and the Pressed Salmon Sushi – all delicious choices. The interior decor is quite charming, adding to the overall ambiance. Service was generally quick and efficient. While most dishes were impressive in both taste and presentation, I found the Unagi pressed sushi to be just okay. However, the beautiful presentation of each dish certainly adds to the dining experience.Overall, it's a great spot for sushi lovers, with a welcoming atmosphere and a variety of tasty options on the menu.“
“My girlfriend took me out to this hidden gem last week for my birthday and I am still awed with how amazing the food here was.I've been to Vancouver and Japan for some great sushi and I can confidently say that Oka Sushi is the best authentic sushi restaurant in all of Alberta. It's a hidden gem that doesn't get enough credit for how amazing it is. The owner, Mr. Oka, has been running his shop for over 25 years and you can truly feel that he has dedicated his life to making fantastic authentic Japanese cuisine. The salmon sashimi, tuna belly sashimi, octopus salad, spicy chop chop, and oka special were something that I could eat every day for every single meal. Many establishments in Edmonton, Banff, and Calgary charge a fortune for sushi that's half as good as this place. The atmosphere is unassuming and it feels like you're in Mr. Oka's home and he's making dinner for you personally. Make sure you reserve ahead of time because this place has a few seats and books up pretty quickly and far in advance! See you soon Mr. Oka!“
“We loved the sushi! We stopped here after a day of ice climbing, so warm miso soup tasted great after all day in the cold. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. The place was recently renovated and has a very nice, calming vibe to it.“
“This sushi joint truly lives up to its rating. Service is friendly and unrushed both over the phone for take out and in person. I simply have to tell them how many people and our preferences, and they will prepare exactly what you want. Their menu is simply a suggestion, you can ask for anything (sushi, lol). It's a bit more expensive but you truly, absolutely get what you pay for. There are other sushi places in the area with high rankings but Sushi Land blows them out of the water.“
